this is what I was blockading against when the Japanese struck off teh west coast of Australia. Ships move double the distance from port to port if the path is clear of op-fire. The Japanese can quickly redeploy from Australia to the home islands if necessary.

Japan wont likey get to employ this feature often because its ports tend to be in range already but like combined arms its just as important to deny the enemy of it as it is to use it sometimes.

another technique that I find very useful is bomber resupply. here I swap the bombers from midway and the carolines, with the bomber from the carolines bringing supply to allow the air units to fly CAP this turn. No transports were hurt in the making of this screenshot

Germany winter 43

A fall counter attack in Stalingrad pushes German units back temporarily. A costly advance for the Russians.

At turn start I've got some tough decisions to make, The wallies are surfing the sand east in Africa and I could respond to that. I could fall back to avoid the winter attack by the Russians. I decide instead to force the issue in Russia! I'm getting close to breaking the Allies and forcing them to sue for peace so i cant let up.

I pound the rail to disrupt Stalingrad ( - 1 to defenders attack values if rail is damaged) and I soften up the arty. Most of air in the area is focused on Stalingrad and I make sure I hold a tac air for the main attack to get that precious +3 attack bonus.

Germany finishes the turn using up all her stockpile of RP's. They are looking good though as I've managed to make the most of timely repair and production should stay at max next turn

Japan winter 43

Well, on normal setting I've handcuffed the wallies into almost a non-factor ( perhaps I know how to play this game ) and its allowed me to pretty much have my way in the Pacific. With several games under my belt already I should've played the Arsenal of Diplomacy scenario that gives the Allies a boost without adding combat modifiers or extra supply to take away options like bombing China's factories.

Now that the Japanese are flush in the SoPac I can put effort into finishing the Allies off early. I move into India easily because of the damaged state of the factories last turn it remained empty this turn. I also adjust for the expected sub strikes from the north next turn.

Germany and Japan spring 43

I simply repair Rp's and shore up defenses as I've gone over the top and Defeated the Allies.

Summary

I came, I saw, I conquored

I think overall my strategy was a good one. I found the AI adaquate but like a mentioned a few posts ago I have been playing this game since WaW first came out and my experience made the difference. And to say it again to avoid any concerns over the AI ( which is by and large well done and continually being tweaked ) this game was played at "normal" levels usually reserved for head to head play by veteran players.

I hope those that gave it a read enjoyed it and it sparked some excitement for A World Divided. Feel free to post your comments in this thread now as the game is over.

If I get a show of hands I'll probably agree to running an Allied game using the Axis Blitz scenario to give me more of a challenge and you can get a peak at the other side?

Timmeh the Terrible, Conquorer of the Known World

Thanks a ton Timmeh. I can't wait to play the game. Since I can't play it now, I'll have to live vicariously thru you. Post another game if you have time =)
