what else ?

Don't waste posting space -- Raver is known to practice "strategic misdirection" (i.e. flat-out lies). Ask him about "Fortress Java" in his game with Luskan.

I will gladly see him at timor - i have much more planes than space to use them and this area is close / very convinient / to my PI training area
if he wants to use darwin fortress area to fight against KB I can pick this gauntlet happilly
it will be good occasion to kill his remaining carriers
hellcats will not help him :-)
it is time to stand and fight for him
he can't hide longer fight soon

2 earlier damaged subs sunk ASW force

Well do you care to give me a firm time that your KB will appear of the coast of Timor?   I thought not.   All bluster.

Raverdave gets frightened by my fast reaction and claims no invasion within weeks

Fast reaction ?  Hah !  It takes weeks and weeks to get an invasion sorted, just because I say I am starting the ball rolling now does not mean that you will see ships on the horizan tomorrow.

any
hundreds of bombers in the area running like mad in last months I don't oppose as I conserve my elite fighters for more important fights
quite a lot of subs at celebes straits - i regularly place hits from my level bombers - they can't sink them but certainly send them to base and HK groups hunts for them on their way
few conwoys noticed in pacific
avenger - certainly from carrier north of perth
i'm generally ready - any adjustment in my defences can be done within 2-3 days
from other news
i think within next 10 days i'll go for chungking again and try to lower forts to 0 with shock attack
it is even possible that final battle over the city can be done in this month
it would free 15+ art units some eng units and few tanks regiments as well as one southern area division not counting few hundreds highly experienced lavel bombers

if timor is going to be major area of operation I can only say it will be vary difficult to Raverdave - IMO it can be done with effort as 2nd or third theater - at least in 43 as china will be finished very soon there will be no offensive in india /burma/malaya unless Raverdave wants to face 25+ div force
so only aleutians / again his fleet is too weak / + cen pac + PM area + salomons - rather narrow opportunities and maybe that's why he decided to go with everything for timor but concentrated air force on japanese side is more than enough - especially I got quite a lot of TBs and long range cover during last 3 months. both sides have more planes than good bases - each side placing air units on timor will see them destroyed so by now it is pretty nice buffor area.
with current force concentration I feel rather safe
i can imagine at least two variants of more dangerous allied operations in this moment with one of the lower risk level for Dave than Timor
i will try to write more soon /turn has come/ or send on PM

few turns passed it is 16th of August 43
2 days ago enemy cruisers raided koepang with little result
quite an intense sea traffic in the area

it is 5-6 days since i last saw anything else than thunderstorms over north OZ
it is too fast to claim that but weather model can be broken here to the level we have over china where are constant thunderstorms
patrols/ recon flies with reduced efficiency
strikes agaist other target than bases are rare
it would be totaly new quality and i spend time thinking how it can affect overall situation and strategy
we will see if next week will be with broken weather ....invasion will be interesting
i lost hunderds of planes over china due to weather /ops/
now Raverdave must face such difficulty

lot of action
fast transport intercepted
3 old japanes DDs sunk at lautem
enemy fleet seen NW of darwin carriers included - Raverdave would gladly fight there only 3 hexes from darwin
allied transport hit by mine at broome
sub warfare - 1 hit from asw planes and heavy damage to Harder - looks like I manage to kill more enemy subs than I loose to them

afternoon shock attack - i hoped not to miscalculate as my troops were far from max strenght but without 2 forts lost last time chungking proved weak
830ktroops 7.5k guns and 1150 vehicles assaulted
AV - 15.2k modified 9.8k / after shock x2 modifier - looks like we will never get known of 30% modifier's reason
enemy had adjusted 2.6k
3:1 at 1 fort and 239k enemy troops surrended

own losses 83k troops 700 guns

first day without thunderstorms
overcast today and in forecast

did you followed how many victory points you've got for destroyed chungking units?

I can smell big land offensive in the India

thanks Pauk
our ancestors look at our wars and nod with satisfaction
1,5k+ army points
easy to count
239k/10/12 = circa 2k points
but I don't care about points / there is still slightly below 4:1 for me /
i lost at least 3-4 months there and another 3-4 when i first encountered off base resistance bug
so this victory is bitter
i could have more troops in south DEI now for example
i need to eliminte off base troops - circa 150k in 2 places - it will take 2-3 months as well as regaining strenght after last assault so after i eliminate all chinase armed forces i will feel free to use china army outside of china
all borrowed troops from other theaters are on the move - 350 elite 80+exp helens relocate to DEI
I bet soon there will be no enemy subs there
India is interesting option as well as russia - only 4e bases close to HI stops me from creating a battle plan
all my pools grow nicely
i'm close to 4 mil supplies
i shut down many airframes factories / i have 1000+ of tonies and tojos and over 700 jacks - betties are still produced in mark 2 model as I expect heavy losses at timor/ as well as armament/230k/ and vehicles /15k/- pools are big enough and now i have 5k surplus HI / day and no drain in oil and resources stored.
in last days over 500k of war materials reached HI despite of enemy sub efforts / no ship was hit/
merchant losses are still close to 35-40 for whole war
i have plenty of ships which production was halted within 10 days so i can have them at any moment
naval industy came back to subs production as there is little else to produce
modern PCs are accelerated as soon as it is possible as it is very nice weapon against allied subs
basicly the only not growing position is fuel
i have 250k+ depots in major areas and fuel train with 300+ fuel behind my fleet
but operation eats a lot - it was one of reasons i did not go offensively in last 3-4 months / beside obvious fact there was little to hunt and my glens are 0-sized so no search behind lines /
durig last few month my tankers were busy moving fuel not oil :-)
R&D is looking nice - i decided to further build up most important planes

me too
slightly too late but it is still  tempting - that's why pity land combat doesn't work well
china must be cleared first and off base units may be invincible in this engine
i'm short off fighters units to cover next front  and pools for russia is massive
without air parity i will have no chance
second i need to see result of dei campaign
and if Raverdave take any foothold i will need them all
7-8 months earlier it would be an option

A spectacular achievement! Past the half-way point in 1943 and the Japanese Empire is still the dominant force!

keep this faith capt. Harlock !

major engagement ahead of Empire
morale should be higher after chungking

I'm quite interested in how Raverdave wants to play this invasion
as it is 1st such action in game i should get valuable info for future
he withdrew from Wake invasion 6 months ago.
now he feels more confident
we will see
good thing is that Raverdave has no idea about location of my assets and some of them can be surprise for him

Congrats to you success in Chungking. Good for your game. Maybe even for Raverdave. It caused too much bitterness in this interesting duel..
You still have to pay PPs to load your LCUs on ships, but those who suffered the most will be cheaper before they regain their strenght again.. There is always a bright side
I really like to follow your game. Good fight from both of you!!!

it is incredibble -Raverdave forgot about my turn today
too much sun in Oz I think
I always knew it is unnatural to live in such hot places

there will be short break soon for a few days - however there is a chance i will use internet cafe so Maybe Raverdave will post sth here

Raverdave dances around timor
he did not probe it seriously so he doesn't know where is control in force and where is its illusion
running with offensive in 42 without sniffing all things about target and area is good as surprise counts but in 43 I'm a little bit dissapointed by what I see
looks like the only important thing was abundancy of LBA - " big hammer tactics "

good luck to all generals and admirals for next few days
I'm off
