After a mandatory 8-hour rest, we are going back into the gladiator pit known as ANW.

As this is the last weekend that the HarpGamer server will be available to us, we hope that there will be a few other willing participants before we bid adieu to the this fine opportunity.

Well, Evaamo and I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning to squeeze every last second of enjoyment we could out of the HarpGamer server.  We played the PlayersDB scenario, "Incoming Mail" by Dave Steinmeyer.  It was an opposed convoy transit and it played out very similarly to the account detailed by Tom Clancy in Red Storm Rising.

First came the Subs,

Then came the Bears,

The Finale of the first act was an appearance by the Backfires.

It was a fantastic scenario.  Thanks, again, for the the use of the server.  We've played over 50 scenarios on it in the last few weeks and I am certain that everyone has enjoyed every moment of it.

Met another new fellow on the HarpGamer server for a battle.

Adam / Tomcatek was definitely a pro.  He handily cleaned my clock without suffering a single loss!

When this guy says that he is a newbie, Don't Believe Him For a Second!

We played Power Sweep with the PlayersDB.  Thanks for the scenario, Dave Steinmeyer!

Thanks, again, to HarpGamer for the use of their server!

We have a stay of execution!

Looks like we will be able to play on the server for a few more days with Wednesday being the last day.  So, if anyone is still looking for an MP game, drop a line here or look for us on HarpGamer pHp chat room or the HG mIRC chat room.

We just introduced Jan Masterson to the wonderful world of Harpoon 3 MP.

We played Power Sweep with the PlayersDB. Thanks for the scenario, Dave Steinmeyer! It was so much fun, we played it 4 times!

Thanks to Tony and HarpGamer for the use of their server!

The easiest way is to have someone talk you through the procedure. If you can meet us on either the HarpGamer pHp chat room or the HG mIRC chat room, that would help. The first link is easiest as it does not require any special software. Just click and you are in. The second link is where most of us hang out. However, you do need to have or load the Java software to make use of it. Since you need to find an opponent, that is probably the best first step.

If you just want to sign onto the server,

1) Start your ANW Launcher
2) Select the Multiplayer Options tab
3) Change your IP / Port settings to IP: 72.21.228.42 Port: 14342
4) Hit OK to close your launcher
5) Re-start your ANW launcher and select the Multiplayer Options tab
6) Hit the button "Launch Harpoon3Client.exe and connect to server" button

You should appear in the Lobby.

It is usually best to make arrangements for a game before logging onto the server.

Welcome aboard, Tico. Looking forward to a game.

Just had a few sessions with Tico and Adam / Tomcatek. We had an excellent time trying a 3-sided ASW scenario and then a scenario against a BB Surface Action Group.

Thanks to Tony and HarpGamer for the use of their server.

P.s. BBs are TOUGH to stop!

Jan Masterson and I got a couple more games played. We tried Flash Point and Retribution from the Regional Conflicts Battleset #2. Jan slaughtered me on Flash Point, but I paid him back in spades during the appropriately named scenario, Retribution.

Many thanks, again, to Tony and HarpGamer for continued the use of their server!

Looking for someone to make a grand statement when I should update the server pieces to 3.7.1 and apply the DB2k beta...

I recommend that you don't upgrade it until the Beta is officially released.  There is always hope that they can still get to the remaining Game-Killing bugs like:

IMO, so long as they persist, this game remains virtually unplayable in solitaire mode.

We welcomed Fred Galano and Michael Harvey (a.k.a. Kilonum) into the world of Harpoon multi-player, tonight, with a 3-sided ASW scenario of cat-and-mouse. A good time was had by all.

Thanks, again, to Tony and HarpGamer for the use of their server!

Breaking in Stalintc to the world of ANW multi-player. This may only be his first game in MP, but he plays like a real pro.

Awesome defence. We're finding some more bugs, but having a really great time, nonetheless.

Thanks, again, to Tony and HarpGamer for the use of their server. This match would not have been possible without it!

Thanks Herman that comment makes me feel good about how I am playing

I have only had Harpoon nearly two weeks and im quite humbled that someone has said that

Multiplayer is definatley bags of fun, better still the game can be saved and picked up another time like we are doing, makes those monster scenarios possible and more bearable!

Welcome back to Mark Admiral! After an initial engagement with our host, Tony, he came back for a second round and promptly knocked the stuffing out of us!

So quickly did he snuff his opposition, that they switched sides and tried it again. Two games in a matter of 40 minutes. Short, Sweet, and Brutal. Ah, the world of Harpoon....

Thanks, again, for the use of the server!

Then we should meet each other on the battlefield. The only difference between Herman and me is that Herman likes to play the quick dead [at least 1:15 or faster] and I like to play the slow dead [1:1 or 1:5].

Actually, I think that you guys would be PERFECTLY matched!

You both like to play at 1:1 and spend weeks on a single scenario.

Stalin and I picked up our game where we left off. After a hellacious aerial battle over Fairford, aerial superiority was finally won, but at great cost.

Unfortunately, a bug appeared and kept ending the game. It would not allow us to continue the scenario.

Nonetheless, we had a great time up to that point with many nail-biting encounters.

Thanks for the game, Stalin, and thanks to the host, HarpGamer!
