You'd be surprised (or probably not), at how hard it is to find something appropriately post-able when your search is for "wise ass". You get all sorts of interesting pictures...

The serious answer is: "We don't know." It would probably help if you hadn't deleted your question. Not everyone reads the forum daily. But there really is a lot we don't know about how the program works, both in details and in general.

Why don't you post the question again and we will take a stab at it. I for one do not remember seeing the question. We really aren't a bad a bunch of people. You will find we all make jokes. No harm is intended. But we will give your question serious consideration. If we don't know the answer we will let you know.

Nothing personal Sam. Just kidding around. I don't have any turns in my in-box, so I'm trying to look like I'm working so I don't have to go cut my lawn.

I'll use this for the long answer. I posted a question, but on further thinking I realized that either I would not get an answer, I would get the wrong answer, I would get contrictory answers, or there just wasn't an answer available. So i decided to erase the question and proced on to a test to generate some data so I could work out the answer for my self. Then Raverdave posted '???' or something like that. I posted a short answer that may not have fully explained my reasons but I thought was sufficent. Then a whole bunch of, I guess, supposedly funny posts, and again I posted a short answer and all I got back was more flack.

So, the bottom line is that I will find the answer myself and will not bother to ask any more questions. Thank you all very much.

Well now you've piqued my curiousity. There have been rare occasions where I actually did know the answer to something. What is (or rather was), the question?

No question is too stupid.

In this forum, we've answered a variety of questions ranging from

How do I set up a seaplane base? (answer - Move an AV there with supplies)
Should I date my ex? (answer - absolutely, as long as it you don't call it "dating", it doensn't cost you a dime, and it's only "superficial", and not super-fiscal).
Who would win, the New Jersey or the Yamato? (answer - The Bismark! tee-hee).

Go ahead. We're a wealth of useless information. Whether it's about WitP or which beer goes best with pre-season (answer - Amber Bock). If anything, somebody will completely make something up, but at least they'll sound very authoritative. Somebody will eventually wonder if it impacts the accuracy of 4e bombers vs. shipping, and there will eventually be a response to limit the availabilty of torp-totin' Bettys.

Besides, the Buc-Jag pre-season game is kinda slow, and there is -STILL- no turns in my in-box (*sigh).

Sam, I recall seeing your original question (though I no longer recall what it was about). I did not reply because I figured that sooner or later someone who did know would see the post and respond. This happens to be the most popular board on the Matrix forums, and so a question can get buried in the "camaradery". It is not considered impolite to boost a serious unanswered question back up to the top of the board with a simple "bump" post.

I can understand that you may have figured that your question would start another "fanboy" argument. We do get a lot of those. Every regular member here has his own favorite cause, and they often cross other member's favorite causes. It's mostly all in good fun, if you can appreciate the irreverence.

Wow!

What caused that? I havent seen such an uncalled-for comment since the grade school.

Did you get a bit too friendly with his sister or something, Feinder?

I was somewhat taken aback myself. What you see in this thread, is what was "said". I dunno. Everybody can have a bad day every once and while, and things on the internet are often misconstrued.

What you said to Feinder was not nice, especially as he is one of the most genuine and experienced guys on the forum and was offering help. Shame on you. This is a (mostly) friendly and fun place, where you can learn a lot. Being rude to him was definitely not called for. Now RaverDave is another matter - be as rude to him as you like...

Very best regards

Carl

It is a perception problem. I did not like him making jokes about me at my expense. When I subtly indicated that, he then posted more jokes at my expense. If you keep poking and prodding someone, they will poke back. As far as I am concerned, subject closed.

I wanted to check you were still alive in case I needed any CHS advice. I am doing my first game with the mod against the AI and will be hopefully moving on to a PBEM at some point, so will likely need it. I am an arse by the way, it's not an act.

Sam Cole: Hello Sam. I'm wondering how long you gave to have your question answered. There's probably a good number of us that would give any question a good guess if it looked pretty evident that no expert on the subject was forthcoming. It's better than nothing anyway. Just to look at it now, this looks like a joke thread, as you cleverly, though unintentionally, set things up for those coming along later to think you were playing some word game with the title and then seemingly not having a question. I guess if it hadn't been for you being snubbed it would be a bit funny.

I'm not sure about the rest of us, but given the titles of some of the threads, I'm doing good if I read a third of them just because I either don't have very steady information in an area, even for a guess, or it just doesn't look interesting. I'm not suggesting that you do some stupid marketing blitz campaign with your titles, but leaving this one as it is, with no data, just launched this thread into what looked like a joke thread frankly, it's just unfortunate that nobody responded within reason, or, that you're too impatient.

I would be really surprised that if there's any non-joke type thread that there isn't some attempt at an answer provided for within 12 hours, in fact a joke thread might get them in quicker. Now don't double-cross us and tell us what the question was afterall
