Gawd, I had Dogfight, too. I'd forgotten it as I really can't consider any Milton Bradley product a real wargame! I recall nothing about the gameplay...

One thing I thought was neat was the plastic planes were on plastic stands so they appeard to be above the map board instead of sitting on it. Just added flavor I thought.

That is about all I remember about it though.

I am 45 and love gaming still.

My first game for Christmas was Avalon Hill Panzer Blitz, couldn't find anyone to play it except my dad and he quit after a few times.

LOL I ran into the same problem. I can't remember what my first game was, but was definitely Avalon Hill whatever it was, I had many. I would recruit someone to play me, and destroy them, ergo no more opponent... I am not saying I was that good, but I was interested in tactics, and they weren't, with the predictable outcomes. It wasn't until I was in the Navy that I found worthy opponents.

I am 47, not counting chess and Stratego my first game that I still remember is AH Panzerblitz. With Strategy & Tatics soon after. My first computer game that I owned was the original Koei Romance of the Three Kingdoms playing it on a friends 386. It was a good arrangement, I could not afford a PC and hid wife did not want him to spend more money on the PC. We got our moneys worth, by spending many hours playing.

Now 56. First game was Tactics II as a birthday present when about 11.

A few years later discovered SPI, and got really hooked. Now I'm a WITP addict.

I ran across an old copy of Tactics II after I was into the Squad Leader series. At first glance it was quaint, I thought. A buddy of mine and I started playing it, and soon forgot about Squad Leader. Tactics II was FUN!

I wish I still had the thing...

This is kind of like a 'wargamers anonymous' confessional....

"Hi, my name is Buzzz. I am 36 years old. And i am a wargaming addict...."

The names not REALLY Buzzz (duh!), but i am 36. Been playing for about 20 years. Thought i was the only wargamer on the planet (or at least the only one in the Southern Hemisphere) for most of that time.

First games?? a very average thing called Falklands '82. Anyone else ever see it?

All time favourites? Most of the old SSG collection on C64. And of course WitP!!

Amazing that a thread started 6 years ago is still running. We all need to get a life!

I still have this game on my PC and play it sometimes its kind of easy but gives a lot of fun... the only bad thing about it is that i do not know how to relad ordnance during the fight... or is it impossible

Not impossible, just don't remember how to do it anymore. . I did love SeaLance missile/torpedo combo too ! I think the game (Red Storm Rising) is on Underdogs site if someone likes to try..

The Tactics II database for a Red Inf Div gives an Assault Value of 1 (!) and a range of 1 (!!).  The historical
TO&Es for this unit indicate at least twice that.  IRL any 1/2" square red cardboard counter would be more than a match for any blue "citizen-soldier" formation.

I doubt it. Anyway, if you really think red got robbed you can easily mod the unit stats.
