Now I wos doing some minor generated battles. I was fighting panthers vs IS 3. So my observations are as follows: the AI thinks the crews are very dangerous because they are the #1 enemy. If an IS 3 has a panther, and a tank crew next to it it will attack the crew (strange but that saved me in the battle ). the AI considers the objectives aremore important than fighting and once it calptures one objective it turns around (those were beautifull shots in the back ) and tries to capture the next objective. That makes fighting, even agains all odds much easier (I had 10 panther and the AI had 8 IS3 ... I won) Is the AI going to be worked on in the next versions? Alex

A decent AI will always remain a big challenge. Its the one area i refuse to critique the Matrix gang on even though i'm not a programmer. Simple fact is that no AI will ever match a human in terms of plain common sense. Still, hands down the AI in SP:WAW has preformed the best out of all the SP versions i've seen so far. as to specifics, given that the game is 'objective hex driven' think there's gonna be little that can be done to address an AI that drives on one objective, then on taking it proceeds to the next. One nice thing i've seen in this version is that the AI will leave some forces behind to 'hold' it vs prev versions where they'd leave it completely allowing a few hidden units to 'retake' the area. Only little fobile i've noticed is that the AI seems to almost get 'confused' when it's between two different sets of victory hexes. This happend in my most recent battle (Blenheim Blunder) watched numerous enemy AFV's truckin back and forth between a north and south victory hex, changing course each turn. Started making me feel like i was shooting ducks instead of tanks! ;-)

I realize that AI is very hard to create and so its no that Im saying the game is not good, its great, but some things can be changed... like the crew shooting thing. Another thing ive noticed (only in three battles so I'll test that more) is that the enemy has to roll the whole squad onto the objectives to be "satisfied" with it and go for the next... I believe the game is outstanding in player vs player but the AI should be tuned a bit (yes yes I know there are more important thing to be done ) Alex
