A decent AI will always remain a big challenge. Its the one area i refuse to critique the Matrix gang on even though i'm not a programmer. Simple fact is that no AI will ever match a human in terms of plain common sense.
Still, hands down the AI in SP:WAW has preformed the best out of all the SP versions i've seen so far.
as to specifics, given that the game is 'objective hex driven' think there's gonna be little that can be done to address an AI that drives on one objective, then on taking it proceeds to the next. One nice thing i've seen in this version is that the AI will leave some forces behind to 'hold' it vs prev versions where they'd leave it completely allowing a few hidden units to 'retake' the area. Only little fobile i've noticed is that the AI seems to almost get 'confused' when it's between two different sets of victory hexes. This happend in my most recent battle (Blenheim Blunder) watched numerous enemy AFV's truckin back and forth between a north and south victory hex, changing course each turn. Started making me feel like i was shooting ducks instead of tanks! ;-)
