Don't think I've ever done that for any film.

I'll probably get crucified for this but I saw Hunt for Red October twice in the same night.

It was a very good story, actual historical accuracy, probably not so much

Too bad they didn't show more of the face-off between the Soviet and US/UK fleets. I'd especially have liked to have seen the A-10 "attack"...

Me too. I was a big A-10 fan.

I have always wondered if they would make a movie from Red Storm Rising.

True. The ending of the Cold War was very strange for me. I was in ROTC going through school and it was right at the end of the cold war. I thought I would be going into the Air Force and probably fighting the USSR one semester and the next I was a Civi (by choice) and the USSR was gone.

That was a Timothy Dalton film, IIRC...

I think your right.

IMO he always got a raw deal from the public. I thought he made a decent Bond. It's not his fault that they were just writting some sub-par bond movies at the time.

Yeah, think how much better they could have been, if they'd been writing instead of writting...

That could be a great movie, done right, but T's correct - it won't happen.

I think my 2 favorite Clancy books are Debt of Honor & Executive Orders, but post 9-11 they won't be made into movies either.

I thought the movie adapatations of Hunt for Red October & Clear & Present Danger were relatively good. (Considering book-to-movie-adaptations are almost always worse than the books they're based on.) I didn't care for the Sum of All Fears or Patriot Games movies, however.

Just so long as it's no Willem DeFoe playing Mr. Clark...that was my biggest gripe with Clear and Present Danger.
