Events 2/2

The Union got quite a few upgrades this turn, including Sharps Guns. As far as I know this is a cavalry pistol/rifle. I could be wrong though.

Battle has been avoided many times once again in Kenawha. I wish I knew why, but worse yet Jackson is still stuck there with lacking supplies.

I was successful in my raids, which is good.

I also finished a Camp further increasing my reinforcements and two arsenals which increases my Weapons production.

Jackson is hit bad by disease. I really have to get him out of there. He has been reduced from 25,000 men since I last checked to 20,000 men.

Diplomacy remains quite as usual. However Europe was kind and gave me some Engineering research points which should help out.

My Runners were also successful in picking up horses so I should be able to start building two more camps this turn. I send out the runners to grab some more Horses and Iron.

In the West I continue the pursuit of the enemy Army now in Missouri. I want to desperately cause as much damage as possible to it before it can get away fully. Their numbers are much lower than that, more around 15,000-20,000. Furthermore I am doing further damage to Missouri.

The AOT has reformed at Cumberland. The Union Army seems to wait at Frankfort. I'm also sending off two small Cavalry Brigades into Kentucky to see if they can feint the enemy army and cause some trouble.

In the east the ANV managed to make it all the way from Grafton to Shenadoah. A hard march through the mountains, but they made it through swiftly. I'm now sending them over to Fredericksburg to start reforming properly.

Jackson is having a hard time getting out of Kenawha. He is taking unnecessary casualties due to the lack of the supplies in the terrain, I need to get those boys out.

On the side my Siege Artillery has almost finished. It should be extremely useful for the future when I may be taking more cities and forts.

I have lowered the Supply of the ANV and as you can see I already have a huge jump in my economy. This isn't even fully out of supply yet, only Low Supply.

I'm building a camp in both Natchez and Savannah to further increase my much needed reinforcements.

To greatly increase my Iron production I'm building 4 Mines in Augusta. This should be a huge boost when they are done in about 6 turns.

Next I build a Factory in Austin to further increase Labor.

Finally I start construction of yet another Academy in Savannah to for my much-needed promotions.

To end the turn I have a choice for another Training upgrade. I go ahead with Bayonet Training which should increase the damage of my units.

I then set my Raiders to Cause Economic damage and Destroy supplies, and that's it.

Events 2/2

Another rather uneventful turn.

My Raiders were half successful. Nothing too important.

I finished another Camp in Atlanta further increasing my reinforcements to 9,000 men per turn.

I also finished 2 more mints further increasing my money income.

Diplomacy is pretty much the same as usual. France further increases support for the USA.

The Governor of Alabama now supports Naval Research. I would of liked support for something more crucial but what the heck.

I also managed to capture those Horses and Iron successfuly which should be useful. There is absolutely nothing to send my runners after this turn. This is frustrating, my diplomacy is pretty good as well.

Starting out in the West.

The enemy Army in Missouri got away. I'm going to go ahead and split up the Mephis Division and Van Dorn's Division.

Van Dorn is heading back to the AOT. I'm going to let them capture Herculaneum on the way though. The Mephis Division is heading further west into Missouri to capture the rest of Missouri's provinces. After that they'll head back to their garrisons. Capturing the Provinces doesn't affect the resources in the state that much, unfortunately. If I want to really stop income from Missouri and capture it completely I'll have to besiege the Capital, which I can't do right now.

Over in Kentucky my Cavalry ran into some lone Siege Artillery. For some reason they weren't able to engage it. It would of been sweet if I could of taken it. Anyways, this is pretty good bait so I'm going to fall back the cavalry and going to attempt to attack the province with the AOT. I have a feeling that Union Army over in Frankfort will come over to take out the cavalry/protect the siege artillery. I have good chances of winning, it's a smaller force of about 50,000 Union Troops against my 70,000. If it turns out as it should this should be the first proper battle the AOT sees.

In the east the ANV and Jackson have finally made it to their Winter Quarters. Too bad Winter is almost over .. arg.

I am switching out the 4th Corps and bringing in Jackson's Corps. This brings the ANV back up to 73,000 men. I am splitting out some of my units into the forts to help out with my Supply issue.

The 4th Corps is only made up of one battered division of 2,000 men. I'm not sure what I'll use it for quite yet. I can only fit 3 Corps into one army. I'll leave them where they are for now to build up strength and maybe in the future I can muster up a second division.

The Union forces are becoming more mobile. They seem to be sending two divisions over to Pittsburg. I have about 6,000 men stationed there, let's hope they hold. I can't bring over the ANV.. I've learned my lesson of moving through the mountains. Perhaps when my Siege Artillery finishes (2 turns) I'll attempt a siege of Cumberland again.

Moving onto the economy.

I have a good increase in money so I'm going to increase the spendings of my Diplomacy. I really would like to get it up higher.

Next I would like to try and muster some more troops. It's almost spring so the empty population should be replaced in April. I have lost some precious brigades and I need to reinforce the 4th Corps. I'm going to try and Conscript 4 brigades from various cities. The risks are rather low at about %10-20 so I'm hoping I don't run into any problems.

I have used up all my resources on upgrades and such so I'm spending the last of it on a Mint in Shreveport.

I set my raiders to Destroy Supplies and that's it.

Hey comander, glad you like it.

I haven't gotten Gatling guns yet because I find it too early in the war for this upgrade. I need to concentrate all Weaponry upgrades on rifles for my troops or the Union will have a heavy advantage over me. Maybe in a year or two Gatling guns will become an option.

Emancipating Slaves is possible in this game however for this particular game we've set it so the CSA cannot emancipate. However if I could emancipate I wouldn't do it so early in the war. It would give great support from foreign nations and give me more troops but my country wouldn't like it.

Events 2/2

The Union has upgraded to Invalid Corps. This means he'll be getting more reinforcements. I have no idea how many reinforcements but he must be getting more than me.

My Conscription was successful for the most part. I managed to get 3 brigades of about 2k men each. I've upgraded their weapons and I'm sending them over to the 4th Corps. It hit the support of my governors a bit hard so I won't be doing it again anytime soon.

A good deal of buildings were finished. Two Plantations and a Mint which gives me more building spaces and a further increase in economy. I also finished two Camps which increases my reinforcements up to approx 11,000 per turn!

Over to Diplomacy it is starting to pay off! Britian and Europe sent me some resources and it can only get better.

My Governors are starting to help out aswell. The Governor of Lousiana now supports Labor Production increasing it +15 every turn! Very useful. My Governor of Virginia now supports British Diplomacy so I should get a bigger boost in that category.

Moving onto my runners. They weren't able to pick up anything this turn, I'm sending them off to grab 65 Money and 45 Iron. Let's hope they get it, pretty high chances.

Starting out in the West. My attack into Lexington failed. The Union Army did not come down and battle was AVOIDED. I could of killed off an entire division and captured some siege artillery, I wish I knew why battle is avoided so often.

Anyways I'm going to begin the siege of Lexington to try and probe the Union army to attack me. It should be an easy city to take with the whole AOT if that Union Army doesn't try to stop me. I'm also setting my units to Plunder the city. This should destroy buildings and lower the Union's National Will.

I'm sending Van Dorn over to Cairo to begin a siege there as well. Once the Mephis Division finishes capturing the last Missouri Province I'll send him over to help out Van Dorn. I have to be careful of the enemy corps out there who is no doubt growing. However with Van Dorn and the Mephis Division combined they should be able to hold off any attacks at the river and eventually take the city.

Onto the East.

A 16,000 man Union Force sits nearby Pittsburg. No doubt he is planning on beginning a siege there soon. The lone Siege Artillery that escaped and I failed to capture due to avoided battle seems to be moving there as well.. not good.

Although they won't be able to do much I'm sending over the 4th Corp of 7,000 men towards Pittsburg. I'm setting their supply to Normal so that more reinforcements will be directed towards them.

The ANV and AOP remain at their positions. I've upgraded several more weapons for units within the ANV as well as add some attributes to high quality units. I also upgraded the forts' attributes in Fredericksburg. This uses up pretty much all my resources for this turn.

Not much to show for my economy. I've spent most of my resources on upgrades. I'm leaving my Diplomacy spending a little higher for now to receive more benefits.

I found out about this interesting information on specific brigades. Here's the history of one of my highest quality brigades in the ANV:

I want to share a little more info about the astonishing amount of Iron being produced in Harrisburg. 53 Iron alone in one city. If I were to siege/capture this city it would pretty much put the Union Iron production at a halt and cause a huge amount of trouble. I'll most definitely check this as an important objective for when the opportunity presents itself.

For a new Naval Upgrade I choose Naval Repairs which should help tremendously in repairing my ships after battles.

I set my raiders to destroy more supplies and that's it.

If you want to move units during winter ( in this case Jackson ), split them into single divisions and move each by themselves. So you get bigger chances to have at least part of your force moving.
