I don't need to take them out. It would also take a lot of men, casualties and it would leave my army and territories vulnerable.

Events 3/3

My siege at Lexington starts out rather well. I'm hoping to probe the enemy army to attack me and possibly take the city as well.

My units managed to plunder 3 buildings, including two mansions! This has done a blow to the Union's Nation Will. I'm quite happy about this because the lower their National Will the lower quality their reinforcements are.

My Raiders were somewhat successful. I have no idea what kind of damage this is doing to the enemy armies, I can only hope.

A good deal of buildings finished this turn. A Mint and Arsenal which further increases my economy. A Plantation which increases my building spots and further increases economy. Also a Camp which increases my reinforcements to 11,000 men per turn. Finally I finished a Academy as well which should allow me to get another Corps commander and various other Division Commanders.

Diplomacy is increasing! This is a significant increase and finally shows my payment towards Diplomacy is starting to show colors.

My Runners were successful in getting me some extra Iron. I'm starting to get a huge amount of choices for my Runners. I think I should build another Runner soon. I'm sending my two current ones to get me some more Iron and Money.

In the West not much has changed.

The AOT of 70,000 men continues it's siege of Lexington. The Mephis Division is coming over to reinforce Van Dorn. I'm afraid of that Enemy Corps lurking nearby so I would like to send Van Dorn over to join the Mephis Division early before I begin the siege. The reason I'm doing this siege is because it gives me a start to take better control of the river. The river serves as a reinforced border in which I could build forts on stopping him from capturing territories behind. Furthermore rivers increase my supply and economy efficiency. One more factor would be that rivers give better defenses advantages, but I may be wrong on that.

The Union forces stay as they are, I wonder why. Let's hope the Union takes the bait and attacks me at Lexington.

In the East both forces are still sitting back and building up their armies, but it looks like it is getting more tense. The ANV is now at 90,000 strong while a Union force of approx 100,000 men sit across the Potomac. My Siege Artillery finished this turn as well and joined with the ANV. I have upgraded it to a hefty 10 Inch Rodman which should help tremendously with Sieges. I'm going to continue staying where I am for now to see what the AOP tries to do. I would like to take Cumberland soon for an opening way to Pennsylvania but that army is in the way and I don't want to run into a bad situation.

The 4th Corps of 8,000 men is still moving to Kenawha. Two Union Divisions of approx 8,000 men each have taken some territories in Western Virginia therefore cutting off Pittsburg. I'm expecting them to form up to start a siege on Pittsburg, not too sure what to do about that because the 4th Corps is green and outnumbered.

The rest is rather boring reorganization of generals and such.

Onto Economy. I continue to spread out my Money Income for spendings on Diplomacy. It's rising quickly and I should take advantage of it.

In Savannah I'm starting construction of yet another Plantation.

In Shreveport I'm building another Mint and a Horse Farm.

The last thing I'll do is start a few more Conscriptions. Spring is near so that means population regrowth so it will have no affect on my economy, so I want to take advantage of this and get some more brigades. The only issue would be the Governors' decrease in support and the risk of unrest.

That's it for this turn.

To end the turn I have another Weaponry upgrade. I go with Springfield rifles which should be reliable and a good alternative from Minie Rifles and even Richmond Rifles.

I have a 3 star promotion which I'm going to use on Morgan, a very promising Corps Commander for the AOT.

I set my raiders to destroy more supplies and that's it.

Events 3/3

My Siege in Lexington trudges on. I'm taking quite a few casualties but I am making steady progress.

First Major battle in the West! The Battle of Lexington, 10,000 Union Casualties and 3,000 CSA Casualties. The Union army attacked my position and I drove them back with high casualties. This is the first proper battle the AOT has seen and they are on their way to glory. My National Will continues to grow while his decreases.

My Conscriptions were mostly successful and I managed to get 2/3 brigades. Donelson's support has gone down pretty bad.

Population Boost has arrived and all my cities have been replenished. Economy on full blast.

I finished a Factory for extra Labor and an Armory for further Weaponry research.

France was kind and sent me 36 money. My Support remains the same while the US raises with French support and lowers in European support.

My Blockade Runners were highly successful and grabbed a lot of Money and Iron. This should be extremely useful. I'm sending them off to try and get some weapons for me.

Battle Report:

The Battle of Lexington was a decisive success. This is proof the AOT is in fighting shape to fight and win against the Union forces. As you can see the Union Forces attacked me head on and took large casualties. A few of their weapons were abandoned, however I didn't manage to get any. I gained further points towards an Experience Upgrade. I should be able to choose my first one this turn! Staff ratings were increased, quality increased, disposition increased, and National Will increased.

No doubt the Union force here has lost a large amount of supplies. If my raiders can destroy some more supplies they can further damage this shamed army.

I'd like to start with a little change of pattern and show you the Eastern Theatre.

The enemy force I thought was going to form up and siege Pittsburg has instead moved to Kenawha with 30,000 men and only just missed my 4th Corps who was heading there but stopped at Abingdon.

The 4th Corps has been reinforced with 2 more Brigades bringing it up to 11,000 men. However these are very green units with mediocre weapons at the moment. I don't want to risk them being attacked so I'm sending down Jackson's 33,000 man Corps of seasoned troops to aid him. If the enemy force attacks I have no doubt they will be slaughtered by Jackson. If they don't attack I can try to pursue them, hunt them down, and send Jackson to see if he can help out Pittsburg. However to be on the safe side I'm going to send them over to Appalchia as well after Jackson arrives to protect the AOT's supply line in case they try going there instead. If they attack the 4th Corps, Jackson should arrive in the time. If they attack Appalchia, Jackson and the 4th Corps should arrive to drive them back. If the Union doesn't do either of those they are still in range to be pursued. A win-win situation.

Moving over to Lee. The AOP of, I'm guessing, 90,000 men has moved over to Cumberland. Their intentions are unclear.

Since Jackson has split up from the ANV Lee is left with only 55,000 men. (Similar to the Chancellorsville scenario, eh? ) and is quite vulnerable to this enemy force. However I feel quite safe because the ANV is within the protection of Fredericksburg's Forts. However if the AOP makes any movements onto my territory I'll have to fight back at some point and may have to bring Jackson back up.

I've used up most of my resources on a special case. I've upgraded one of my highest quality units with Sharpshooters, Brigade Artillery, and the very expensive but high-end Whitworth Rifles. These rifles are very expensive(75 money!) but very deadly. They are purchasable when my Diplomacy hits 3 for England, which it has. This may be a silly way to waste my money but I find it essential to create Elite units who will be golden marks in my ranks. I'm naming it the 11th Infantry "Wasp"

Over in the West I continue the siege of Lexington. I don't expect that Union army to be of any trouble. If they decide to attack again, we'll whip em again!

Further west in Missouri I was very lucky as Van Dorn's Division just dodged a 30,000 man army in the Tenn. River. I've joined them with the Mephis Division which makes a force of 32,000 men. I'm bringing up another brigade of reinforcements however I'm going to attempt an attack. I'm not sure if this will be successful, this is rather an "experiment".

For Economy my Money Income remains rather low because of what I'm pouring into Diplomacy. I don't want to lose this cance at further increasing Diplomacy so I'm leaving it there.

I'm building a new Camp in Selma which should further increase my Reinforcements. I'm also building a Mint in both Natchez and New Orleans.

To end the turn I have some upgrades. I looks like when I tried to get the Sprinfield Rifles upgrades I made a mistake and didn't click it properly. Ugh, oh well. It's not too important. I go with Light Recoil which I'm guessing will increase the efficiency of my forces.

Next I get a Logistics Upgrade. I go ahead with Skirmisher Training 2 which I'm still guessing decreases my casualties when I'm attacked.

Looks like the Experience Upgrade is for next turn.

I then promote Adams, a good division commander in the AOT, to 2 stars.

As usual I set my Raiders to further damage the Union's supplies.

For anyone who reads my AARs as soon as they are posted be sure to re-read it after some time because I post my AARs while in the middle of playing so I quite often change my strategies and posts a lot.

Events 3/3

My Siege drags on. I'm losing a lot of men. I don't want them to die in vain, however, so I'm going to pull it through.

Battle avoided in Appalachia. How annoying.

I was successful in my destruction of supplies which has no doubt caused the Union trouble.

An Indian Brigade was just recruited. This is quite useful, I'm going to send him over to join the AOT.

An RR Station and Mint finished. Always useful.

And then Jackson's Corps is hit hard by disease. Gawd darnit those Union soldiers avoid battle then they get sick and pass it along. I've lost a lot of men and disposition, not good at all.

France sends me yet more gifts, 54 technology points for weapons. My Diplomacy increases for France and European support goes down for the USA.

My Runners were able to grab some Weapons. I'm sending them off to grab some Iron and Weapons.

Starting out in the West.

My two divisions attacked but the Union army moved over to Bowling Green. I'm going to go ahead and start my siege to encourage them to come back over. Since these two divisions, now 35,000 men, are full I'm sending the Brigade from Texas and the Indian Brigade over to the 4th Corps. Any extra brigades I'll send over to restock Jackson's Corps.

In the Mid-West things have gotten complicated. Those two Divisions split up. One went over to the AOP, reinforcing it to 100,000 men. The other went over to the Union Kentucky Army which is now right on top of Jackson with 70,000 men.

Jackson was able to save the AOT's supply route but it's is dangerously fragile. Since battle was avoided here I'm guessing the Union Army is in bad shape due to losing a decisive battle, possible lack of supplies and of course that Disease that hit. I'm going to leave Jackson where he is for now while the AOT continues it's siege. Once the 4th Corps is reinforced I'll send them over to help.

Moving onto the East.

Sherman's army of the AOP, approx 100,000 men, has moved over to Grafton. He is dangerously close to Jackson and the AOT. I want to let him know Gen. Lee doesn't like being ignored so I am sending him over to Cumberland to get back his attention. I'll also begin a siege here next turn. I realize Lee is almost outnumbered 2 to 1 if he is attacked and in enemy territory but I can't allow this army to attack my smaller forces. I have confidence in lee and his 60,000 man ANV.

Overview:

One thing to notice is he seems to have mustered up quite a few divisions here and there. Nothing to be too concerned about but it does mean he has reinforcements on the way.
