Happy Christmas Eve Eve back. So do you have a rival elf sweatshop at the south pole to compete with Santa?

So from tomorrow afternoon, I'll be absent for a while...

If I don't "see" you later have a very Merry Christams T. Do the Danes have any special Christmas traditions, other than celebrating on the 24th?

Let's see... Proper (i.e. organic) Christmas tree with candles (not electric lights), we eat roast duck, gifts are on the evening of the 24th, midnight mass in church (for some)...

Translating from English to math is tricky, but:

Spam implies a quantity of spam, i.e. - spaam is a constant at any one time;

Spamming imples an INCREASE in spam, so

Spamming = delta (spam)/ delta (time) or

d(sp)/dt;

Similarly Building character implies a changing state, so

Building character = [delta (character)]/delta (time), or

d(ch)/dt

So -

since Spamming BUILDS CHARACTER, then

d(sp)/dt = K (d(ch)/dt) [K being a constant proportional to the quality of the Spam]

Hope that helps!!!

Isn't this an oxymoron?

And although I enjoy T's spam I don't care for the real Spam (tm). I like ham and I like spices but I don't care for mystery meat encased in a snot-like gelatin packed in a can.

Note that if the quality of the spam is low, than K can have a NEGATIVE value, so that if you post lots of low quality spam, character DECREASES.

Actually Spam(tm) is supposed to be "pork shoulder" if you believe the Hormel Corporation...

Sounds nice. We couldn't do candles in our tree. With our dry climate the tree would turn into a torch in about two minutes. It's ok though, the girlfriend won't let me do a real tree anyway, which also doesn't tend to survive long in the dry weather. As an environmentalist its against her creed to cut down trees unnecesarily. Never mind that most trees come from a farm.

That's the risk you take, obviously. We keep one of those little plant misters filled with water next to it. Works wonders, IF you catch the fire quickly.

When i was a kid, we used to have real trees, but one year after the tree came down my father decided to burn it in the fireplace rather than putting it out for the trashman... it burned slightly less intensely than soaking it in gasoline!!

This shook my father up so much that we never had a regular tree again.

My cousin did, though, and last year lost most of her house to a Christmas tree fire... She was still fighting with the @#$%# insurance company last we spoke (a few months ago)...

It's considered a staple in Hawaii - the local McD's have fried spam and eggs on their breakfast menu! (no joke - at least the one in Waimea, Big Island does...)
