You have a very tame border collie(s) then - i've known of folks where the border collie will trash their place as bad as (or worse) than Nik PB. My assistant had to get rid of hers (sent to a farm) because it trashed her house. Border Collies generally need a job and lots of space to run to be happy.

Agreed that you need to exercise them regularly, if not BAAAADDDDD things can happen. Fortunately I run regularly so my BCs have always gone with . They also need off leash time and out of the house time. We take our BC down to the park after dark (since its not an off leash park) and let him just run around in a big field. It does wonders for his mental state. They are not good lay around the house pets, but I always wanted dogs that were good at going with me and were highly trainable.

I have heard more and more horror stories about BCs. I'm starting to wonder if they are being too closely bred. Seems like their personalities are getting a bit "touchy". I got my last BC at the shelter and he's been one of the best, but I think he's only 3/4 BC.

Yeah, if you run them a lot, they do much better.

Yep. I think some people get them thinking "Oh good this will make me go out to the park and run". What ends up happening is after two weeks they end up back on the couch and the dog gets no excercise. It's only a good match if the person is already out running or whatever.

I think Dixie has BCs also, I'm not sure what he does to keep them sane.

Hey, I think I just realised what's wrong with Nik! He's too closely bred!

Get rid of that dog. Or send it to obedience school.

might be. She seems to get confused when moved to a new indoor location. The weird part, is that most of these incidents happen when she's around the GF unit vs. me. And the GF unit is the far stricter disciplinarian.

Sounds like our girl schnauzer... if we leave her for hours, she gets into mischief. Fortunately, she LIKES her crate (it is strongly associated with dog treats), and will often run into it if she is feeling insecure (i.e. - lightning storm, etc.)

I am having a hell of a time at work with some graphics for a presentation. Anybody know of a freeware, or very cheap program for converting raster to vector graphics?

Actually let me restate that question. I need to resize some graphics without the image degredation usually associated with changinig a raster image. My plan was to convert raster to vector, resize and then convert from vector back to raster to put into a PP presentation.

So,
1. Does anyone know of good converters?
2. Does anyone know of another high quality method?
3. Does anyone know if MS office (Word, PP, ect.) will work with vector graphics formats?

Thanks!

i use IRfanVIEW - it does a good job of enlarging or shrinking - i am not sure how it does it (ie - don't know if it uses vector conversion) - but you might try it (it's freeware).

This looks like a promising tool without needing to convert to a vector format.
