Yep spiders are on that snake list also(fiddlebacks). I agree, I would have flip to if I had one of those widows on me. We are kind of partial to wild boar here(razorbacks). Glad to see that you lived thru your pig fight. Yeah, Fiddlebacks, Brown Recluses, they are native here now in Michigan as they live in homes during the Winter, and they came up on lumber from the South too, just as the Southern Black Widow did. There are many Loxosceles (Brown) Spiders, and there are species or subspecies that are native to michigan, but they are not quite as dangerous as the Loxoscelses Reclusa, the Brown Recluse, although the Northern Recluses can give a nasty bite and inflamation. Them things can be creepy!! Ever seen films of the Australian Sydney Funnel web Spider, probably the most dangerous in the world, and they are a primitive spider with 2 fangs rather than jaws, like Tarantulas and Wolf Spiders, but very, very aggressive. I saw a film of an Australian fellow doing research on the Funnel Webs, and he let this one attack his hand, and man oh man did that thing hit him, and its fangs were buried deep enough into this guy';s finger so that the spider did not fall or shale off. They can strike hard enough to pierce thin shoe leather. That guy was nuts. I had another freind from Arkansas, his name was major, and he had been in the Navy , and had white hair and a beard and looked very simialr to Colonel Snaders of KFC fame. Well Major, not only knew me, he also knew another fellow thatwas attacked by a Wild Boar in Tennessee, and that guy manage to kill the boars, with a knife I do believe. So, perhaps major may be the only person around that knows 2 people that were attacked by Wild Boars. Isn't Major the lucky one. He told me about the other guy aftet I told him my story, and he was just shaking his head saying 'I believe you, I believe you.' He's also had a few hairy experiences in his life. I was shot at when wearing my underware and drinking coffee once upon a time. Heck, life can be rather odd at times to say the least. At least I did surprise the boar a bit and he did get the worst of it, and it was a tussle. Lucky after he ran off a short distance that other people started coming over to where I was at, because the boar was angry and shaking his head that I had kicked, gouged, and punched, and he was coming back for me. the one that got me was a Western Razorback, not a crossbreed Habalena or wild domestic pig. Pigs are dangerous. So are crazed Bulls and Cows. Good to eat though. Bar-B-Q. Chris
