Glenn,

Tell you what.  You devise an Aussie core for me (Enhanced DVRN) for Long Long Road and I will use it.

Only one caveat:  the core you devise for me is subject to peer review on this thread for final approval.

Okay?

be brave old man and push the AI advantage # up and I'll play the same LLRTV campaign with an even brutaler configuration,, how bout me playing as India???and maybe snatching a few tanks to assist from say one of the really hard axis minors like bulgaria or hungary, god forbid maybe rumania!!
I'm tryin to figure out what kind of semi-historical structure rather than composition, that I can put a core together with so as to display that its just as much opperating doctrine that runs the fights success rather than just sheer numbers and firepower.
VA said it himself,,{armoured fist} works good against the AI but how will it fair against a designed campaign??,, especially the design of an old war master like wild bill!.

Why not play it as the Poles, who are fitted out with UK equipment? Or try it with the Free French, who also used UK equipment. Or maybe as the Dutch or Belgians, fighting as part of the Allied armies?

correct my friend,,they have some of the heavier panzers, but I don't have to pick them,, and I figure two thoughts about this, every force for war that has been constructed throu out history has had its members in the ranks that were their units"SCROUNGERS" I figure they went ahead of the core to explore, procure, and indoctrinate, public servants, local malitias and partisans.
Secondly, useing high mobility secondary line arms like SP-AA units and transport with light armorments in the front line rather than hideing and emptying their crews gives some help with suppressing fire observation, and fast relocation, kinda like loading your troops to tanks, but if your short on tanks use the next heaviest units like tanks.

OK, I'll play nice now... no more picking on the Canucks. Not good form to throw trash in the next-door neighbors' yard. Besides, I admire (almost) all of our WWII allies. The exceptions will not be mentioned, but they DO make some damn good vodka.

Riun T,

If we can agree to play using the same game conditions, then I will play the Long Long Road campaign using the same starting core you choose.

Can we agree to play with the same settings and game conditions?

Don't rush ahead.  Wait until we can agree before starting anything.  Wait.

Not the OOB, but there ARE FF units in the basic French OOB in 1942. As a matter of fact, the Free French units come into play in June or July 1940, after the capitulation of the French gov't.

The French OOB from mid-1940 to the end of 1942 is both Free French and Vichy French units, with differing weapons.

Riun T,

So once again you go rushing ahead.  And once again you get impatient.  And once again you start something that hasn't been thought through fully.  And once again you will be playing a completely different campaign from me.  Sigh.

I really don't understand why you get so impatient.  If you had waited we could have played using the same rules.

For example, you realize of course that you are using American artillery response times right?  And that right there ruins the campaign.  If you had waited I could have shown you how to reset the campaign so that you don't have American flags and American artillery.  And so your campaign is too easy already.  And your settings are too easy, too.  Why didn't you wait?

Oh well. . .

Riun T,

I also notice that you aren't even using Enhanced DVRN.  Why not?

Alby,

I think FlashFyre is correct regarding the Free French.  However, I've tried editing the campaign to play Free French and the campaign editor will not let me choose the French Flag.  So you are correct that I cannot take the French for the Long Long Road campaign.

I'm thinking about starting this campaign using the Canadians.  That was FlashFyre's choice for me and I think his choice is still a good and challenging one.  Are you okay with the core force I chose?

This is the Canadian Core I'm planning to use.  If any of you have any comments or suggestions, then hurry.  I want to start this campaign this weekend.

Enhanced DVRN Canadian Core:
1x A0 (Colonel Anders)
3x tracked AOP
3x ammo boxes
6x jeeps
4x snipers
3x recce troops
2x engineer platoons
2x M5A1 platoons (for the engineers)
1x Ram II company, reduced (3 troops instead of normal 5)
3x 3" mortar sections
2x 25lbr sections
2x Light AAMG sections
1x Crusader I SPAA section
Total points = 2100

Canadian sounds good.
I started to use them today, but then started finding errors and ended up fixing them instead...LOL.

The settings I'll be using are the Cataclysm/FlashFyre settings previously discussed in other threads. The only differences between Cataclysm and FlashFyre: A) Cataclysm gives the computer 110% Searching, Hitting, and Rout/Rally, and B) Cataclysm sets artillery to 120%.

However, two changes for this campaign.

1) Reduced Squads ON hurts the human player in a custom designed campaign, and so I will be using Reduced Squads ON.
2) Reduced Ammo ON hurts the human player in a custom designed campaign, and so I will be using Reduced Ammo ON.

Settings below:
