I think I read here that the manual is slightly off about the number of ships required to blockade a single port, but I am not sure I correctly remember the actual number. How many is it?

There was a bug in the original release that required >30 while the manual stated =30. This is fixed as of the public beta version, so you now require 30 per blockading fleet, which means three full strength "unit" of ships, ironclads and/or frigates.

Regards,

- Erik

Wondering, is there any reason not to use blockade option when standing outside enemy ports?

Since a blockading navy seems to bounce out in the ocean if enemy navy show up (good rule) it seems that hunting runners is a no option since the bounce will mean they both start on same territory next turn.

Then you can just as well pick blockade instead of doing nothing.

I always blockade, personally. I think it's more valuable to establish the blockade than to chase runners, until you have the extra navy to do both.

Yes but, if i goto Sea Territory X is there any point not to pick blockade option even if I am out hunting runners?

Another thing, in the Beta patch the USA AI no longer try to blockade ports :(
Is there any place I can go in and edit the AI willingness to blockade, naval invade or hunt runners?

Yeah, you're right. I get very little if any US Navy activity in the game with the 1.94 Patch.

I don't know about how to mod the AI either.
