I am unable to download your Colonial Wars database from the Harpoon HQ site. The links keep sending me around in circles. I would like to try some of these great looking scenarios.

Status: offline 		Hi guys just got my copy of Norman Friedmans "British Destroyers and Frigates The Second World War and After" its a great book with lots of proposed projects and cancelled refits for example 3 proposed refits for the Daring Class Destroyer in the early 1960's

Refit 1

Radars updated to :- Type 278,993 and 965 radars

Fire control radars updated to :- Type 903/4 for 4.5" , Type 262 for Seacat.

EW updated to :- UA-8/9 and Type 667 Jammers.

Sonars updated to :- Type 170 and 177 and Type 199 VDS.

Weapons updated to :- 2 x 4.5" mk6, 2 single 20mm mk7, Mk10 Limbo,
2 x Seacat GWS 21 and a hanger and pad for 1 Wasp helo.

Refit 2

Radars updated to :- Type 278,993 and 965 radars

Fire control radars updated to :- Type 903/4 for 4.5" , Type 262 for Seacat

EW updated to :- UA-8/9 and Type 667 Jammers.

Sonars updated to :- Type 170 and 184 and Type 199 VDS

Weapons updated to :- 2 x 4.5" mk6, 2 single 20mm mk7, Mk10 Limbo,
2 x Seacat GWS 21 and a hanger and pad for 1 Wasp helo.


Refit 3

Radars updated to :- Type 278,992 and 965 radars

Fire control radars updated to :- Type 903 for 4.5" , 2 x AN/SPG-51 for Tartar

EW updated to :- UA-8/9 and Type 667 Jammers.

Sonars updated to :- Type 184.

Weapons updated to :- 2 x 4.5" mk6, 2 single 20mm mk7, 2 x Mk32 triple tubes, Mk11 single arm Tartar Launcher.

These are just a taste of platforms I will be building, anybody wanting any details of other platforms Rag, Quinton as this book covers up to present day , with cancelled designs of the Type 24 and other wierd platforms hehe

CWDB 1950-64 Version 2.1 is now released for ANW - 5/2/2007 10:35:14 AM

Status: offline 		Hi guys CWDB 1950-64 Version 2.1 is now released for ANW, this DB is now compliant with 3.8 ANW, I will be updating all Re-built Scenarios and new build Scenarios when the final version of 3.8 is released in acouple of days

The updated database can be found at :-

Here are the list of some of the Changes

Missile Seekers

The Majority of AAW, SAM and Air , Surface and Sub-surface launched anti-ship missiles now have the BOL flag added, as in real life (inside info here hehe) most missiles have a BOL mode.

Electronic Warfare

All ECM, OECM and DECM have been updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW.

DE Sub Fuel Burn Rates

Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW.

ARM Warheads

Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW.

Torpedo Defence

Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW, you can now engage incoming torpedo's with your own torpedo's I have added the Torpedo target flag to the majority of ASW weapons ie Hedgehog, Squid, Limbo, Weapon Alpha , RBU's, and ASW homing torpedos ie Mk43,44,46 etc.

Decoys

Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW, ie Target flags added to decoys , also Quail decoys have radar and ECM added to simulate B-52's ( now that is cool including the same RCS)

Replenisment and Unrep

Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW , Majority of Support tankers ammo carriers have fuel and relevent wep mags added if used in scenarios the wep mags are to be altered by scen builders to re-supply the relevant ships in your task group etc.

Air to Air refueling

Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW, due to the period of the CWDB there is few AAR tankers but what is in there has been modifiedn most capable of AAR have had the mod added.

On the 16 February 1961 India became an aircraft carrier nation with the commisioning of INS Vikrant.
She was brought to Bombay on November 3 1961 and later became part of the Indian Fleet as a fully operational carier.
Her intial airwing consited of British Hawker Seahawk fighter-bombers and French Alize anti-submarine aircraft.
Pakistan was outraged at the purchase of the Vikrant, and protested to the United Nations stating that this would alter the balance of power in the Indian Ocean Region into Indias favour. This protest fell on deaf ears so Pakistan decided to take action herself to ensure Vikrant would never reach Bombay.

INDIA

OVERVIEW

The Vikrant group has now entered the Indian Ocean and is now onroute to Bombay.
Over the past week Pakistani Naval Units have been conducting so called
Naval Exercises , we believe this is a prelude to an attack on the Vikrant.
We have sortied 3 Squadrons of warships including Delhi to escort her to Bombay, Maritime , Fighter and Strike aircraft have been assigned to her protection.
Vikrant and her group are on high alert with embarked aircraft at alert 5 ready for combat.

THREAT

SURFACE - A mix of Ex RN WW2 Destroyers and Frigates with the light AA Cruiser Babur somewhere in the Indian Ocean.

AIR - Possible Sabre fighters armed with cannons and sidewinder, B-57 Canberra armed with bombs, rockets and cannons, MRR aircraft on recon

ORDERS

1. Vikrant to recieve no more than 50% damage if engaged.
2. Vikrant to reach reft point PIM and remain on station there for 1 hour.
3. If Pakistan forces are on attack profiles you are to use lethal force.

THREAT

Surface - Ex RN Frigates and Destroyers armed with Guns and Torpedos, possiblity of INS Delhi at sea armed with 152mm guns.

Air - Vikrant Air Group of Sea Hawks armed with bombs, rockets and cannons, Alize armed with bombs and rockets in ASuW role.
Land based aircraft maybe a threat as we close India be aware of B-24s configured in the MR Role.

ORDERS

1. Vikrant to be damaged to 80% or sunk , her last know position at 0800Z today was 18 20N 62 14E Course 090 speed 22 kts.

2. Sink at least 4 Indian warships in addition to Vikrant.

Soviet forces from the east have overrun the plains of Western Germany and are pouring into Denmark. General Ridgway's armies are holding along the Kiel Canal, but the enemy has already penetrated Northern Norway and is threatening to send an amphibious landing force around the North Cape.
This is a ficitious situation set for Operation Mainbrace, NATO's first big naval exercise.
Mainbrace was conceived in 1951 by General Eisenhower to convince NATO's Scandinavian members (Norway and Denmark) that their lands can be defended in the event with war with Russia.

OVERVIEW

Soviet forces have now entered Norway and have captured several airfield , these are now operational with aircraft based there.
Norwegian forces are holding the Vanguard of the Soviet advance 70 miles North of Sandnessjoen and are taking heavy losses.
Norwegian air support has been wiped out along with must of their Naval units, you are to insure the line is held with USMC reinforcements on route to Sandnessjoen.
The Soviet Northern Fleet is at sea in strength in the North Cape area supported by air assets and Submarines we believe they are trying to breakthrough to the shipping lanes in the Atlantic.

ORDERS

1. Insure safe transit of Amphib Group to point PIM and remain on station for 1 hour to unload troops.

2. Lose no more than 3 Amphibs.

3. Destroy Soviet Amphib Group(at least 3 Soviet Supply , Cargo and Bulk carriers )

4. Sink at least 20 Soviet warships.

5. Destroy at least 20 facilities ie airfields , armor etc.

Status: offline 		I like the harpoon interface when it worked way back when, years and years ago .. Harpoon the origonal? The talk of modding brought back a joy that I had with other naval sims,

A. Is it possible to add units both ships and planes and modigfy streangths of weapons?
B, If yes, I would think some WW2 action would be fun, is it possible?

After todays Serials of Replenishment at Sea and Towing Exercises , TG 603.01 is now about to start their final week of Tactical Warfare training, tonights Serial is ASW the aim to Escort the HVU along a PIM and to arrive intact at the end.
The Royal Navy’s Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) offers a number of Operational Sea Training packages. Basic Operational Sea Training (BOST) is a demanding but rewarding eight week period, during which time a ship’s organisation is thoroughly trained, with the objective being to ensure that the Royal Navy and NATO ships are at the right level of operational capability.
Week eight of Basic Operational Sea Training (BOST) is one of the most intensive weeks being the final week of sea training. This Scenario covers an advanced Casex (ASW Exercise) in the South Coast Exercise Areas off Portland Bill Weymouth.


AIR DEFENCE EXERCISE

This mornings damage control exercises completed and units refueled, thid afternoons tactical serial is an Air Defence Exercise is a combined Missile and FBA attacks conducted by Soviet Badger and Mig and Su series of aircraft.
You are to escort the HVU RFA Olwen to point PIM and fend off any raids using CAP from St Mawgan and ships SAMs and AAA.
This Scenario covers an advanced Air Defence Exercise in the South Coast Exercise Areas off Portland Bill Weymouth.


LONG RANGE ENCOUNTER EXERCISE

DTG - 201900Z JUL 64
Location - UK South Coast Exercise Areas
Sides - FOST units under training
Duration - 8 Hours
Nukes Option - Off

After 2 weeks of conflict the first of many convoys is making its final run to France to offload vital stores and equipment for NATO Forces in West Germany.

USS Yorktown ASW Carrier is providing ASW cover for the Convoy, with the USS Hancock CVA up threat to the north is assisting with CAP, ASuW and EW cover, the UK has sortied to Frigate Squadrons to deal with Soviet Submarines believed to be south of Ireland.

Iceland is in the hands of Soviet forces and aircraft based there have been wreaking havoc with northern convoys so this convoy has been routed further south .... but will this help!


NATO

OVERVIEW
Soviet forces have taken Iceland and have now based there at least 1 regt of Badgers.
At least 2 SAGs are in the region and are unlocated, 1 SAG is based around the Stalingrad a converted BattleCruiser and the other a Kynda.

Badger Missile Carriers armed with AS-1 or AS-2 missiles.
Badger EW, Recon and Tanker versions.

FIRST STRIKE OF THE INTRUDER
DTG - 13 SEPTEMBER 1964
LOCATION -KOLA PENINSULA / BARENTS SEA

Scenario Setting

Four days ago Soviet Forces entered into Nato occupied Berlin, Peace talks have failed to solve the incursion of Soviet Forces into Nato occupied Berlin and sporadic fighting has taken place along the East and West German borders.
With the outbreak of hostilities only hours away, NATO has positioned two Carrier Strike Groups on Russia’s doorstep.
The aim of the Combined Nato Carrier Groups is to destroy Soviet Naval Facilities along the Kola Peninsula.
Embarked on the USS Saratoga is VA-75 Sunday Punchers on their first operational Deployment of the A-6A Intruder!

Overview

The USS Saratoga CVBG has now entered the Barents Sea with the USS Wasp ASW Group and Desron 5 providing support.

HMS Eagle / Centaur Carrier Group is at present close in to the Norwegian Coast with the 6th Frigate Squadron providing outer ASW defence, Norwegian F-86 Sabres providing round the clock AAW Cover.

The Norwegian Navy has deployed a large number of its surface units to assist in supporting Carrier operations in the Barents Sea .

Numerous SSK/SSN from Nato forces are now in theatre and are conducting ASW/ASuW operations in support of Nato forces

Orders

1. Conduct Strikes against the Murmansk, Severomorsk and Polyarny Naval Facilities marked with a (T) next to them, at least 20 (T)’s to be destroyed.

2. Two SS-5 Mobil ICBM Regts are on the move to reposition, SAS forces are in there general location, both SS-5 ICBM Regts are to be destroyed.

3. One Hotel Class SSBN has sortied from Polyarny on transit to the GIUK Gap , two Submarine Support vessels are in the general area of the Hotel you are to Sink the Hotel Class SSBN.

4. Destroy at least 80 Soviet aircraft in the air or on the ground.

5. Sink at least 15 Soviet Warships.

First Strike of the Intruder
DTG - 130800Z SEP 64
Duration – 2 Days
Location – Kola Peninsula / Barents Sea
Playable Sides – NATO
Nuclear Option – On

Scenario Setting

Four days ago Soviet Forces entered into Nato occupied Berlin, Peace talks have failed to solve the incursion of Soviet Forces into Nato occupied Berlin and sporadic fighting has taken place along the East and West German borders.
With the outbreak of hostilities only hours away, NATO has positioned two Carrier Strike Groups on Russia's doorstep.
The aim of the Combined Nato Carrier Groups is to destroy Soviet Naval Facilities along the Kola Peninsula.
Embarked on the USS Saratoga is VA-75 Sunday Punchers on their first operational Deployment of the A-6A Intruder!

Overview

The USS Saratoga CVBG has now entered the Barents Sea with the USS Wasp ASW Group and Desron 5 providing support.

HMS Eagle / Centaur Carrier Group is at present close in to the Norwegian Coast with the 6th Frigate Squadron providing outer ASW defence, Norwegian F-86 Sabres providing round the clock AAW Cover.

The Norwegian Navy has deployed a large number of its surface units to assist in supporting Carrier operations in the Barents Sea .

Numerous SSK/SSN from Nato forces are now in theatre and are conducting ASW/ASuW operations in support of Nato forces

Orders

1. Conduct Strikes against the Murmansk, Severomorsk and Polyarny Naval Facilities marked with a (T) next to them, at least 20 (T)’s to be destroyed.

2. Two SS-5 Mobil ICBM Regts are on the move to reposition, SAS forces are in there general location, both SS-5 ICBM Regts are to be destroyed.

3. One Hotel Class SSBN has sortied from Polyarny on transit to the GIUK Gap , two Submarine Support vessels are in the general area of the Hotel you are to Sink the Hotel Class SSBN.

4. Destroy at least 80 Soviet aircraft in the air or on the ground.

5. Sink at least 15 Soviet Warships.

6. Insure your Carrier Groups remain intact for further Operations, three of your Carriers must not receive anymore than 60% damage.

Status: offline 		More for info than anything else Australia had 4 Darings and they were goig to refit them with Mulloka and Ikara, but it never happened. I served on HMAS Vampire for 4 years. Loved that ship.

I have run the database version specifically listed for ANW (http://www.harpoonhq.com/HarpoonWP/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/1950-64v2.4.zip) It has a signature.bin file included with it and will load and run in ANW.
