And what does "y" key toggle? I tried it but didn't see anything in the game.

Nothing that I know of. Why do you ask?

Nevermind, confused "y" in ini file with hot key

ExperimentalAIP1 and ExperimentalAIP2 flags have been added. We recommend playing with these both set to Y in Opart 3.ini. If you have any problems with the scenario play, then set them to 'N'. Preliminary tests showed that setting this flag increases the strength of 'Elmer's' play, but we haven't had time to rigorously test them. Your feedback is welcome.

Is that what can cause the problem that I have?
Am testing Trotsky v3 and Elmer slows down and comes to a halt... toggling between human player and computer player starts him up again, only very briefly...

Maybe I have to try with setting the AIP's to 'N' ?

Edited to add: hold on, after I posted this I went back to the scenario and saw that he moved on and started the combat resolution... does new Elmer takes more time to "think" about his moves? .... or maybe my pc needs some defragmenting

Another quite large "vs PO" scenario -a favorite- Bob Cross's "Campaign For North Africa" in which Axis-Elmer gives you a good run for your money is suffering from the same slugginesh...

Before the patch was installed Elmer was cruising through his turns in both scenarios but now... also the bookkeeping phase doesn't seem to go faster, the contrary I fear...

Silvanski,
Can you try setting the following flags in Opart 3.ini. It's in the Matrix Games/The Operational Art of War direcotry. They should speed things up while I look to the cause.

experimentalAIP2=N
experimentalAIP1=N
oldpathfinding=Y

Thanks,
Ralph

Thanks for looking into it Ralph. I changed the settings in opart.ini which speeds it up, not much but it'll do for now
