I have not formally tested it, but from observation being at sea does affect morale or disablements.

I have seen that units at sea very quickly go to about 30 fatigue.  I think this may be because the game as treating them as being in malaria hexes (most are), and thus pull the 30 fatigue from malaria.  Because of this fatigue, you -might- see some increase in diruption, maybe an add of about 15 points (which is also approximately how much you might be getting from the fatigue of malaria).

But again, I haven't formally tested it, so these are just "by observation" and thus subject to inherit stupidity of the observer.

make sure combat troops are loaded into APs not into AKs. On AKs, the troops will suffer from less comfort on  those ships. I remember Ray said this some 2 years ago...btw where is he hiding ?

Here is what is in the Manual:

14.4 SUPPLY/FATIGUE EFFECTS ON LAND UNITS
[snip] ... [/snip]

Ground units with a Fatigue of less than 50 will gain 1 extra Fatigue per turn if at sea on a
transport. If 50 Fatigue is reached in this manner, their Fatigue will not increase beyond this level.

Now, that is the version 1.0 Manual.

You could not catch Maleria at sea ??
BUT you could catch all sorts of other things on a troop ship with poor rations , contaminated water etc etc

the longer it stays loaded, the more the fatigue/disruption goes up which can lead to disablements.

I loaded and unloaded a few times to minimise fatigue but I know my main assault Divs were high in fatigue when they landed
