I'll agree with that Ursa, but I think what Dredd and I were talking about was promoting a game BEFORE release, to generate the buzz needed to sell more copies when it is released. I agree that happy people are the best marketing available, thus why I bought both Battlefront and ToAW (when it was on sale, another great tactic). But what I was referring to was what steps are taken to make sure that, for instance in the case of Carriers at War, a buy who is only nominally interested, decides that he should put money aside to buy it. Mostly, I think Matrix does a good job. They are one of the few developer/producer (I am also rather active on Kerebos's Sword of the Stars forum) that actually come to their forum to both answer questions, deal with "messes," and promote their titles. In truth, this sort of support makes up for some of the lack of info on the main page. If I wasn't such a forum goer (like never logged in at all), I might think that some of these projects were either dead-in-the-water or not yet started from the accounts on the main pages. Coming to the forum, one finds that all projects are rather vibrant and quite alive. I'm not sure this is a big problem though, as I would think most buyers from Matrix at least browse the forum if they don't post. SoM
