I never go there. General discussion board leads to the dark side.

Year 1221:

The Hojo family exiles Japan's ex-emperor Gotoba and three other ex-emperors to various small islands. Having seized power 2 years ago, it installs the 4-year-old son of the exiled Juntoka as emperor in April, and replaces him in June with the 9-year-old Gohorikawa. He will reign until 1232, but he will be confined to one-quarter of the imperial palace.

Reports of rape and pillage by the Mongol army of Genghis Khan in Central Asia reach eastern Europe, terrorizing the people.

The Chinese begin to use bombs that produce shrapnel and cause considerable damage. The previous uses of gunpowder relied more on the frightening power of loud explosions. See also 1150 Transportation; 1280 Materials.

Le Livre des métiers by Jean de Garlande lists several textile machines used in the Middle Ages. See also 1220 Materials; 1235 Tools.

I think the agg. value does influence whether or not and how hard a unit will press home an attack but i've not comprehensively tested it. Not to cast doubt on a dev, but just because they didn't find it doesn't mean its not there. I base this on my experiences as a tester (having seen the code in places and taken part in debugging/explaining sessions with a dev who has access and can "look" for things.

The biggest misunderstanding the general forumite has on average is the thought that its easy for a dev with access to a code to either "fix" something or "find" something in the code. Its a nightmare process at times. Ask JoeW.

Just after I read Speedy's post mentioning D-Day, I saw a clip on it on Fox News.  I started talking about it with a guy I work with (an SF type).  The discussion eventually moved on to the movie Black Hawk Down.  I learned that he was a part of that unit and wasn't there only because the was in the hospital with some pretty severe burns.  He knew everyone portrayed in the movie and would have been in the back of the 5 ton that was hit where everyone died.

I agree Nik. My main concern was the misunderstanding that seemed to be forming in that post about aggression being the only basis for the recommendation as to whether the commander should be fighter, bomber or patrol.

One would think that while an aggressive fighter commander might be desirable their "air skill" would be far more important and that's what I heard Mike W. say once.

There's probably some forum out there in the ether that is getting more posts in an hour than it got in the past year. It started Sunday evening, and will continue for a week before ending just as mysteriously as it started.
