If it's possible, and you're willing to do the work, I'm sure there are many of us out here who would take advantage of it. One problem will be determing which stats to draw from. Record-keeping for Negro Leagues was spotty, especially in the early going. One way to do this, although not through the Lahman dB, would be to choose a Negro League player and year. Then take that player's stats and pro-rate him for a 154-game season. If, in your mind, that player was of MLB quality, you would then find players with similar stats and age (in that season) and give your Negro League players those ratings. For example, if a Josh Gibson had a (154-game pro-rated) total of 550 at-bats and 175 hits, you would go to your chosen MLB year and find players who had similar numbers. Find however many you want and average those players' CONTACT numbers to get your Negro player's CONT rating. You would need to do the same for all of the ratings, with Arm and Range being very subjective. You could, of course, adjust your new player(s) up or down in any area, based on whatever you feel is justified. Once you've gathered the data for the player(s) you want to put into MLB, just go in and create them. Of course, if you figure out how to edit the Lahman dB and add teams/players into the dB, please share.
