I noticed that as soon as you land in the UK with the germans you are at 0 supply, how can you keep supply even at a 5 level? It should be if you have control of the sea zones next to your amphib assault you should get some supply from them. I mean otherwise doing an invasion of England is almost impossible.

If you can keep a warship adjacent to any hex that you own then you get supply 1, which is enough to attack with.  You have to capture a city ASAP, and keep teh RN off teh back of your warship with subs and the LW.

It's really quite easy....;)

Doing a successful Sealion on the UK was almost impossible!.
In the game you do get several advantages as the germans as you can ship as many corps to england as you want, for free without ruining the economy in the process. Of course a Sealion strategy will need more surface ships, that single battleship wont last long faced with the RAF and RN.

For Invasion of uk you don't need any warship - you need enough air! Knock out british air, clear bristol and then inavde at bristol. There you need only one hope to the city - this is all you need. If you are worried about RN wait till the RN is away for hunting your subs - if necessary giv them a sub...

How do you clear Bristol? The luftwaffe won't do it and anyway you are telegraphing your intention by moving invading units next to the coast. Brit player rails in reserves and zaps your units as they land. without a ship they will be out of supply. I am talking about playing ahuman opponent.

It would seem to me that you should be able to move the transport into position AND land on the beach in the same turn for invasions to get a chance to work. Currently there is no way to NOT telegraph your intentions.

The AI usually leaves Bristol lightly defended so it is your best target. If you have air superiority, you can usually knock out or weaken it to the point where it will fall at first contact with a German unit. Once Bristol is taken, you are in supply and it is on to London! Once London falls, the rest of the UK can be taken at your leisure.

Yes, a purely amphib. unit with exactly that ability is sorely needed, as are airborne units of some sort.

the Brits usually don't have enough units to cover all the landing sites, so as the German you invariably put out some sacrificial units - eg to take Bristol you can land units on the south coast of England and also around the Bristol Channel - a couple of LW attacks on the city and you can be sure that a handful of units will get to attack it.

Yes Sealion was never going to succeed - but alas few games are sophisticated enough to be able to handle the reasons why...which are not that complicated......tehre's a thread in hte "Bombing the REich" forum that is goign into it in some depth....both historically and fancifully.....http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1536739&mpage=2&#1557982

It might sound crazy but why is London the UK's 'capital'? Taking the city has no political consequences but why should it have supply/replacement advantages for the axis? The major industrial strength of the country lies in the midlands and north, not the south east. London is not even a particularily good transport hub with only 1 north south rail line, lots of lines go to London but few cross it!

At the moment the brits get supply 5 with London and 3 without, the axis get 4 with and 3 without, presuming they have another city, normally Bristol.

I think that having Birmingham as the 'capital' balances things better, the brits will get the supply/replacement advantages they would have historically even if london was occupied.
