TURN 28 -

Battles continue to rage across the southern continent, with all four protagonists winning and losing battles, the germans who earlier pushed the british back, now seem to be losing to me and the soviets with britain also attacking them in decent numbers.

On the northern front, supply losses caused by the russian fleets are over 200, however i am inflicting over 700 on them, hoping to slow there advance against the US to keep the balance of power for now.

I again make gains on the southern island but i have started to notice just how strong the soviets are. This formation has 5 tank destroyers!! -

The US army seems to be holding its own against the soviets in the north, but i launched a few bomber attacks to weaken the soviet defences.

I am starting to have a few supply issues, probably due to the size of my armed forces now, so i switch some more production to supplies. This is not good timing as i need every man and bit of equioment i can et my hands on!!

TURN 29 -

There continues to be fierce battles on all fronts. The US and the Soviets both had massive casualties in there battle, the US destroying all Soviet formations on their land, but at a massive price.

Naval battles continue to erode my northern fleets, although i am inflicting damage on both the US and Soviets.

My southern fleet which was happily bombarding the British ports, suddenly got attacked and decimated by an air attack -

I concentrate all my air power and my major land units against the soviets and have managed to surround their isolated town. I hope to take this soon.

Sweet thread bro. I started a game with the same settings except on AI instead of AI+. I like this game a lot more playing this kinda war. I'll probably play a lot of random maps with this game til the scenario designers start making some more games. I'm waiting for a good WWII grand campainge for one player versus AI.

I know you answered this earlier, but it doesn't work yet for me: How do you change the name of "random regimes? I went into Edit, and click on Regime, and I can select their name but I cannot figure out anyway to get it changed. Need a little step by step I guess.

I can't figure it out either...someone??

Hi,
I think thats the way how it works:
1. load scn
2. ckick edit button
3. click Regime button
4. click one if the existing regime names. New edition options appears in the middle of the screen.
5. click name button. A new windows pops up. Change the name to whatever you want. Thats it.
6. by clicking statistics (under "Property sheets") you can also change the regimes logos etc.
Hope that helps.

@Dave74. Great AAR. Very inspiring for creating own random games.

Looks like th1207 beat me to it, so I'll just post the screen shot, note the numbers in sequence.

Something not clicking. If I go into the Edit menu and click Regimes, then click one of the named ones that comes up, I don't get anything showing in that middle line. I can't get a figure that looks at all like the figure above. I'm sure it has got to be simple but ...?

What does he mean "...new Edition options...". Like I said, nothing appears on that bar in the middle of the screen (except if I mouse over a terrain thing, or the little symbols to left of where you choose Regimes, etc.

Is there any way of editing the names without seeing the map? (if you have shroud on)

Ah, that gives me a clue maybe -- Actually clicking on the "capital" (after clicking the Regime button, etc. Something to try.

No, that did nothing!

after you get into edit menu and click on one of the existing regime names in the Regime box, then move to the center area of the screen and click on Name under the rimes (in the vicinity of number 5 (my nmae shows Gosht Riders. click on the name button then the window pops up to enter a new name for regime.

FINALLY! The step I was missing was hit the Reg button in the upper left part of the edit screen. I was always just hit the Regime button, and name over in the upper right side of the screen.

Thanks for your patience.

Click on a passenger unit inside the cargo ship unit and then the unload button will show up.

Crap..I still don't see it...I have cargo ship next to an island which has a town on it..i'm right by the town, the town is next to the water... I click on all sorts of stuff but I never see an unload button. I've clicked on the ship unit, I've clicked on the ship picture, then the rifleman picture, I've clicked on the ship unit below the mini map, I've clicked everywhere, no unload button...augh....I keep starting these games that I'm excited about but can't disembark...sniff.

the unload button is in the line of buttons that includes teh transfer, attack, bombard, etc buttons - if you loaded units onto the ship then it's in the same place as the load button IIRC

I never loaded units on the ship....I created a unit in my port town, transfered riflemen and a cargo ship to it, then sailed to the island...no unload button lights up ever.\

Ok...so I did it the long way...created a cargo unit, then a machine gun unit, then loaded the machine gun unit on the cargo unit. The way I did it before, creating a unit and transferring a cargo and a machine gun, is a lot quicker and easier...YET, you can't unload a unit that way....

SO, I have a cargo unit out at see with a bunch of men that I can't unload because I transferred them instead of loading them...uh, can we please be able to unload from both procedures..thanks.

What you did was basically create a bunch of shipboard Marines on your cargo ship... they won't leave. This is because they are part of that unit and not a separate entity.

The way the game works now is representative of actual operations.

Marines *do* unload ! plus in the game onboard troops have no use at all.
I agree that it shouldn't be possible to attach land troops to ships.

The town falls to my troops. This town is also a big producer which is what i need. Elsewhere British planes have destroyed what is left of my southern fleet and my northern fleets continue to spar with both the soviet and US navies. British troops are also launching attacks on my line defending the river to the south of my position -

I have a dilemma about what to do next, i am quite happy for the germans and soviets to tear into each other, but i know eventually the soviets will win, do i then fortify my positions in the mountains, await the outcome and attack the british instead or do i push on and meet the soviet war machine head on??

TURN 31 -

One of my quieter turns. I am now being attacked by large air concentrations by the British. They seem to be trying to weaken my positions along the river. I intend to attack them next turn if the german / soviet front stays stable -

Here is a rundown of casualties so far. I have destoryed far more than i have lost, and there are other enemy losses further down the list (22 cruiser II a few hundred machine gun II's and a few others)

My current production is also shown here. I can only guess what the soviets are producing in comparsion, i would think somewhere in the region of 3-4 times as much. If i cant grab some towns soon i will be wiped off the map when they throw their full force at me

TURN 32 -

I start my advance against the British by using my usual strategy of bombing then attacking. However when i sent my airforce to attack a British unit, this happened -

I need to wipe this threat out, but it looks like my airforce is vastly outnumbered!!!

I manage to push british units, but at a cost. Those planes were my advantage, it looks like ive lost that now.

TURN 33 -

My forces smashed through the centre of the British line, cutting significant forces off from supply routes. It also looks like the Soviets are crushing the germans, I may not have time to take the British out before the reds are upon me.
