Player/Team matching will be available in BHQ.

Slight delay due to a technical hitch, but stay tuned.

How does the in-game lobby system work?  When I press search will it find all the games hosted in the net?

No

You need to go to BHQ  http://powerlobbies.com/Downloads.htm

configure CCMT to load and meet there

Does MT use the same netcode as COI?

I'm just downloading it at the moment, but just wondering if I'll run into all the same multiplayer problems as I did with COI...

Juk :)

It runs using TCP/IP.

You need to allow it through your firewall and if you have a router you need to forward the ports to your PC.

47624 TCP; 2300-2400 TCP and UDP

Ok, how do you do this? And what are ports. What do those numbers mean.
I have windows XP. I use a router. That is about all I know about computers.

schrecken, I would like to say thanks.  Your patience and support was impressive.  I fully realize that router issues have nothing to do with the game design in anyway.  That you took the time to assist me and work through my low level computer literacy was appreciated.  I now have the ability to host games and I look forward to playing you in the future.  Where I'll beat you.  :)

You can forward these ports in your router settings.
But I am very wary because I don't normally forward ports in any other game and don't want to start doing so for this one.

You don't need to be wary.. it is a basic way of setting up your network so that the router knows where to send the information... your PC or Your wifes or the PC your kids use.

I had to set my kids PC up so they could play World of Warcraft the same way.

Looking forward to a h2h clash... a bunch of guys are hoping to hook up tomorrow.. I can't make it due to a family commitment.

Jomi, those ports, 47624 TCP; 2300-2400 TCP and UDP, are the stancard Microsoft Games ports used by the CC series as well as many other games. I have never heard of a security issue with those, so don't be worried.

I know its not a security threat but won't it mess with my other games? For example, CMMT uses the above mentioned ports, while Game X uses another set of ports (which I can get away with without specific forwarding). Once I start doing specific port forwarding, I will need to forward the required ports for the other game right? That means I will have to free up ports for every single game that I have instead of the router doing it in automatic / dynamic mode. Am I wrong to think like this?

In fact, in all the games I play, I never did do any specific port forwarding. Will I get away with this in CCMT?

Try it and see... I know a lot of people don't do anything and can play.

It all depends on your specific set up on your own installation.

Port forwarding is mostly required if you're going to be hosting a game through a router. Even then, it can sometimes work as is. If you can't connect, forward your ports.

Forwarding a single port will have no effect on other games. It doesn't work like you're worried it will.

Church, Eloy and myself played around with this. I have the mentioned ports open on my router and still no such luck. Neither could find my game.

How about a bunch of us get together on the 13th of Jan for a big game and drum up some support? We could do a battle video with highlights for those who still have not made up their mind about picking this one up?

Raname your Matrix folder and re-install. Then just rename back and forth for MP play.

If so, I'll setup a scenario.

I have a problem - I forwarded the ports in my router, but when I try to host, the game displays only my internal IP.
What I'm doing wrong?
