It might be a good idea to add a forum sub-section where the experts on EiA can help those who have questions or need clarifications. For example, I need some quick clarifications about supply and forage. Playing Prussia, I have a corps in Stettin: I want to verify the information about supply, seen there on the bottom left, above the brown section. It says: [Forage]3(-2) [Depot]Colberg/2.0$ My corps in this area is drawing supply from Colberg. If I had a supply depot in Stettin, the cost of supply would be $1. But since the depot is one province away, I pay $2 (or does the fact that there is a river between Stettin and Colberg come into play?). Could someone explain what the top line means-- [Forage]3(-2)? Now if I decide to forage this unit and succeed, does that mean that I save the $2? (An unsuccessful attempt, I believe, means I lose one factor.) I decide to auto-forage and here's what comes up: What exactly do all these numbers here mean-- Forage:3 Mods:-2 Roll:1 Net:-1 Good! My guess is that the forage number is the forage value of the province, the mods is the number modified, according to the modifiers found on page 64 of the manual. The roll is the random number given to my corps, and the net is the result of (-)2-1, which is -1. Since the net is of the same value or lower than the modified forage value, the forage suceeds. If the province forage were 1 instead of 3, the forage would have failed and I would have lost one factor. A few questions on forage, though: -- In the above case, would it have been better to forage or pay for supply? I mean I did save $2, didn't I? -- Once a corps forages from an area, does the forage value of the area decrease? (I'm guessing it does) Any further explanations on supply and forage is welcomed. :) Thanks, Alan
