If the cost comes in under $500.00 it will still be a better deal time-wise than my latest purchased toy: a new Glock 23, but the time-cost ratio will be MUCH better. AND I won't have to clean AE after every use either.

Did you forget to read the fine print?

I'm debating getting another copy of WitP for my girlfriend so I'm kind of torn about whether or not to wait for AE and any package deal.

I hope they do the combined package deal. Most people who have WITP and want AE will pay any price but if they want to try to expand the total consumer base. *which would be critical for a WITP 2 if thats ever to come out* they need to do the package. But what am I lol the closest thing I have to buissness experance is a dad with a MBA from Havard. I have no buissness experance and havent ever taken more than intro Macro Economics.

I don't know about that, man. After many intense turns I find that I have to wipe the spittle off my monitor- far too much screaming happens during combat!

Pretty sure Matrix hasn't decided that yet... Could it be because the game isn't near to being finished, hmmm?

Actually, it depends on how long they have been going out! If less than 3 months,

On the other hand, I have just been discussing Classical Greek warfare with the 10 yr old daughter of a friend of mine, in between her playing turns of Rome Total War. She was asking whether Hoplites were heavy or light infantry (not what colour were the horses, and nothing to do with her game!). So maybe Zeb has achieved Nirvana!

What is the reaseon forgetting both WitP and AE? As AE is WitP and more in one?

and the answer is.... The mayflower
Seriously though, as has been stated many times, the amount of value you are getting for WitP let alone the anticipated AE expansion is pennies, maybe even fractions of pennies a day in fun you will get from this great game.

Because AE is an Expansion Pack and requires WitP for AE to function.

Ah....sorry, I suppose I didn't notice that fact.

I do have and play War in the Pacific, not for that long, but since I bought it last year I play it more often than other games and I also agree that the fun to value ratio makes this game not that expensive at all;)Ther aren't many games like that, I think that Combat Mission is comparable fun for me, esp when PBEM battles are concerned.
I just wasn't aware of the fact that AE is not going to be a stand alone expansion pack. So I'm gonna get it, bundle or not;)

Best regards

Maciej

Hi there.
Great to get a admirals edition of witp, just how much is it going to cost us?.

WITP an WPO cost me about 70$ each.....

WiTP cost me close to $180!!! $70 for the game and then a whole lot more for DHL delivery. No complaints from here though....

Admiral's Edition will cost the same as, and quite likely a bit less than, WiTP, but no more. It's not a Patch, and not so much an expansion, as it is an Enhancement. It really is a new game, based on WiTP, but with almost everything changed and adapted.

If you are willing to pay $180 for AE, please send your payment to jw.eldgedge@cox.net, I'll be sure to send you your AE copy with the opening page dedicated and signed by the Team Leads. Ciao.

Just FYI, we don't actually know what the price is going to be, and it's Matrix's call, not Henderson Field Designs.

My wife is hot. Yeah I am biased, but more than one other forum member has seen pics of her. One of her favorite periods of history, besides classic Roman Antiquity, is Greek history, particularly "the Spartan bad-asses" (her words). This WELL before 300 came out...

Now if I could just get her to value the historic value of WitP the way she values the washboard abs of 300...

AE has already cost me 1500 bucks for the new computer

But it has meant I get at least 2 extra turns in every night now because it processes turns and loads the game quicker than greased lightning

Whooooooooooo Hoooooooooooo.

Cannot wait for this game

A serious thought though -how many people are carefully considering who they will play this beauty against -I think due to its far deeper complexity turns may take ages longer to plot. -and we might have to cut numbers of games played from the 5 or 6 we play now to maybe 1 or 2

How long to plot a normal turn Andy?

I figure that I should still be able to get off one turn a day. It might cut out my forum time, so maybe there's a general benefit to the community.

You MUST be kidding!!

$140 for what is basically an expansion pack? What comes for the $140, shares of Matrix Games?

At $140 you're begging for slow sales.

Well, I was going to throw my 2 cents worth in, but that might be a tad over the top...
