We're mainly biding our time until AE is in our grubby little paws...then it will all start all over again!

So .. do you want us to disregard this thread?

Uhh...I thought that's what we were doing.

Gem,

Since we have lost the point of this thread, and I know you are good with computers, what is your opinion between EVGA and ASUS motherboards?  Let's really stray off topic...

I generally just lurk, but this thread gave me a lot of chuckles, and I needed chuckles today...

BTW, you can obviously disregard this...

To be honest, I don't have ANY experience with eVGA other than their fanatasic line of video cards.
Asus on the other hand, is one of the best motherboard manufacutrers in the business, AMD and Intel included.
They do make decent video cards, but often a a high premium.
Are you building a PC or re-building?
As far as gaming PC's are concerned, you will never go wrong choosing an Asus product.
I will say their tech-support can be a bit arrogant, but what would you expect froma leader in the industry?
So, you as well can disregard this if you must.

Gem,

Built a system using an EVGA mobo 780i, but was getting BSOD's and lockups in games.  From reading things online, 780i boards appear to be a wee bit unstable.  If you get a good one your gold.  So I switched to an ASUS board and so far I'm holding my breath.  It seems pretty stable, but I'm going to throw a days worth of Crysis at it to see how it does.  I'm using an EVGA 8800 ultra, and eventually will add another one shortly.

But what the heck do I know so you may disregard my conjectures.

Disregard
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not to regard; to pay no heed to; to omit to take notice of; to neglect to observe; to slight as unworthy of regard or notice; as, to disregard the admonitions of conscience.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The act of disregarding, or the state of being disregarded; intentional neglect; omission of notice; want of attention; slight.

So, I reserve the right both to omit to take notice or having to pay no heed to, or neglect to observe that this thread is unworthy of regard or notice ...

So, in other words, starting a 'Disregard' thread is a bit like shaking someone sleeping and saying "Hey! Wake up and go to sleep!"

An astute observation ... avoid intentionally neglecting that ...

... ouch ... this thread is like a black hole ... just sucks me in ... unaviodable ... must ... resist ... must ...

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated!

Shouldn't that be ´Resistance is futile. You will be disregarded!' ?

My favorite real life example involves the large, multi-participant telecon. Invariably somebody hangs up in the middle and you hear the exiting beep, upon which some lame-o asks, "who dropped off"?

Stock speed, Vista Ultimate 64, with 8GB DDR2 Corsair.  I don't like to overclock.  Big CoolMaster Cosmos case with 4 120mm fans, and ZALMAN 9500A 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler.

More pointless than a broken pencil,
that you left on the shelf when you bought a pen anyway,
only to find the pen was faulty.

Another way to veiw this, however, is:

When AE is released, this thread will be at post number X... so, obviously, the sooner we can get to whatever that magic number is, the better!

Woo! Go for it - start posting so we can get there quicker!

Dave

Dave's right, it is our duty to disregard this thread as quickly as possible! AE depends on it

What does all of that mean? Are you compensating for something?

Nice hardware, how have you set up your RAM timings?
SPD default or have you entered them manually?
Can you take a screenie of cpu-z?
Have you made it through several hours of gaming without any trouble?
Reason I ask is you said earlier you had trouble being stable with that eVGA board.
Have you heard of orthos? that is a great program to test your PC for stability.
It gives it a real work-out.
I don't really like your power supply though, thermaltakes are a little on the cheaply built side.

Is this a coded message? Does it really mean that the KB is steaming off of San Francisco at this very moment?
