Cant wait for the game against Austria today. Unfortunatly, due to brutal start of one English player (those Inglanders just can't admit defeat, we lost our killer striker - Eduardo...

Eduardo? Sounds really Croatian!

PS. There are some good English goalkeepers around at the moment:
David James (Portsmouth)

He was really awful during his career in Liverpool I never considered him a good goalie, just an average.

Of course, David Seaman was a firm no 1 during those times (not to mention his outstanding styling with ponytail and mustache)

Ahh.. 2 more hours to kickoff ...

right, David James had his moments, like other recent goalies in the English national team.

Zond, don't forget Peter Shilton - he was even better than Seaman. A real legend.

Too young to watch and remember Shilton , but i liked Seaman very much because he was from Arsenal

English fans dont like the German team. Portugese cant stand the Spanish. Scots and Welsh want England to lose etc. A bit harsh comapring footbal rivalry to out of hand nationalism

thx...

@Przemcio231
In football, everything is possible. Brazil just lost 2-0 against Venezuela...
So Poland may beat us, yes - but it's most unlikely! I've made the bet of Germany-Poland 2:0 and Austria-Kroatia 0:2
Unfortunately for our mountain-germans , they have a extraordinary bad national team. They already lost against the Farör Islands, Luxemburg and Liechtenstein IIRC. On the other hand, in alpine skiing, it's vice versa...

I hope he'll show up there, too

Blasphemy!

Our resident psycho killer

Only player to be awarded with 3 yellow cards in same match (against Australia on WC 2006 in Germany)

Simunic and Vinnie Jones would pack such a lovely defence duo.

Just a few pics to show a sheer talent of Joe Simunic

What do you trying to say? Kovac, Simunic and Petric are not Croatians just because they didn't born there?

Just for your info Pranjic, Srna, Modric, Kranjcar (his father played for Rapid) are born and grew up in Croatia.

Hehe, Swift, nice try... i will just add that Janica Kostelic quit from skiing because you Austrians couldn't take it anymore

Hahahahaha, Zond, you are right... he and Vinnie (didn't he played role in one outstanding english crime comedy?) would be so nice tandem....

I didn't bet on the scores, just the winners. I need you Jerries to win tonight, although Poland will probably be trickier than most people think...

You'd better win your group as well...

If you want to win a competition, you must beat everyone anyway...

The Poles may beat us, yes, but it's unlikely

It would be really sad if the Austrians shouldn't even survive the group phase...

Well, Brazilians that are not good enough for their own national team play in whatever country that wants them...
Japan, Russia(?), Turkey, Kroatia, Germany - and that aren't all for sure...

The funiest thing is with this turkish player. The German TV-Journalist said, he might also have played for Antigua or England, but he said his heart beats for Turkey... - While he doesn't speak a single word in this language
Strange...

Eduardo came to croatia when he was 15 (without anything). He got married here and he had a life in Zagreb.

The reason why i like him very much is because he is very decent, nice person. He didn't forget his family in Brasil and he taking a care for them (Sao Paolo?).

A real sportsman and gentelman, which can not be said for Vinnie Jones and George Best (but i do have simpathies for them too).

Colin Kazim-Richards. His mother is Turkish IIRC but he was born somewhere in England and never learnt Turkish, I imagine it's a major benefit not to speak the language of 'your' national team and to have only one other player on the team who can speak your main lanaguage
More likely is the fact that he wasn't good enough for England , and he didn't fancy playing for the small nation of Antigua. I am aware of the irony that a player who isn't good enough to play for England is at the tournament whilst England are watching it on the TV

I think the only England player to have been born abroad is Owen Hargreaves (Canada). IIRC there was a bit of a tug of war over who he would play for, with Canada, England and Germany all after him. With the rise of the EU and the movement of workers there will be plenty more players choosing a 'foreign' nation to play for...

That's fair enough, and people moving countries is part of the modern world. If he qualifies to play for them then good luck to him. It's a shame he's missing this tournament, with him Croatia may have had a chance to reach the semi-finals or beyond.

I don't. They made their money and they made their choices, no-one made them act like they did...

I believe Carlo Cudicini also qualifies for England this summer!! And when we're including a keeper from Peterborough in our national squad, I can see Cudicini getting picked
