So does this version of the game give any kind of numbers for troops involved? I know its kind of nit picky but I wish I knew how many men were in a unit or how many men are killed and wounded. It would add an element of realism for me.

I don't recall how it worked in the previous game, but in this one, you can click on indivual elements within an army to see how many men are present and how many would make full strength.

Causalities in the battle summary screen are also given in men.

This was similar to the original game. There was also a series of green dots on the Army icons to estimate its troop size, i.e., the more dots, the more troops. If these troops were out of supply, the dots would be red.

If you want to see these things for yourself, I think AGEod still has a pdf version of the BoA manual available on the AGEod forum.

I have the original but from what I could see it just gave strength numbers but not actual numbers of men ie power 33 out of 40 would have the unit scroll to say pwr 33 with a little bit of red showing it was not at full strength. I am thinking like 44th foot 500 men or something that makes it seem real and not just arbitrary pwr numbers. I like the idea of knowing the real size of the battles. Sure the typical regiment had roughly 500 men but in a campaign this would very greatly as witnessed by the fact that most units have different pwr numbers.

Hi!

Yes, WIA gives this kind of detail now (as well as AACW and NCP since some patch numbre i can't remember now).
In all AGEDO games (except the original BoA) battles results include now:

-Total number of men, horses and guns involved for both sides
-Number of caualties in men, horses and guns lost for both sides.

Besides, out of the battle report, once you heve any stack selected, pressing the Control key will show the total numbre of men horses and guns included on it overe the unit panel, whwre nrmaly teh pwr of the stack is shown.

Also, each element on each unit can be clicked, A unit detail window will open and there, besides full info on units stats you can see the men, horses and guns that the elemnt have (max total/curently present).

Regards!
