I found this with all updates applied (no mods) and the game running other wise "absoluty" smooth.

The bug appears only if you play against the AI (HAL) not in PvP.

In some selfmade scenarios and only there(mainly large ones) I was unable to save the game from the first turn on. ;-(
I found out that this had something to do with the "Fog of war" setting I start the scenario with.
I am allowed to click the "Extrem fog of war" checkbox in the "optional rules" page, but not the "Computer with fog of war" checkbox in the "A/I Selection" page.
If I use the later - bang - > cant save the battle.

BTW
I did not apply any other of the new rules.
I just wanted to mention it in case somebody runs over the same problem.
--edit---
I traced it down to the org file, layed out a new one and the scen saves now.
I will try to find the "offending" unit but that might take some time.
--2nd edit---
Revision:
It is the starting side setting that makes the difference, not the OOB. I can use any OOB and "Fog of war" as long as I let the "Allied" side start the game (first turn), then the game saves.

Is there any rule which side is supposed to be the starter?
I always thought the "Attacker" (that player that should gain the Points to achieve victory) should have the first turn?

Glad it sorted itself out, I was confused.

Since I found the solution to the abovementioned bug I thought I´d share it.
It was a cursor set I used with windows.
So always revert to standard windows cursors if you experience problems when saving the game.
