Will was looking over the Germans weapons a little bet ago and I come across a weapon I never seen in the OOBs before so I did a little test to see how destructive this arty weapon was and I could not belive the destruction it did so I desided to test it in a meeting ingagement vs the computer with me haveing 800 points and useing this to buy 8 DOOMSDAY weapons with two ammo trucks and a few recon and arty spotter units. I gave the computer 3400 points to use against me to see what would happen. This is what happened Score Germans: 3414 Russains: 0 Ended on turn 7 without even the Reds seeing one of my units Now lets see how long it take other people to find this weapon and use it

Verrry interesting! I will have to look thru the OOB's to see what this is... Could it be a Fritz X? Doubt it. V-2? Probably not. Reichsmarschall Hermann Goering wired up to 200 tons of Gelignite? Maybe. Hmmmm, wonder what it is.

would it be the Wurfrahmen? I haven't tried it in action, but these HTs with incendiary rockets were certainly a hell of a lot of fun to use in the SPWW2 version. The problem there was that the racks of rockets were listed as different weapons, and so they took forever to reload from an Ordnance Section - it would wait until the rack in slot 1 was full before beginning to load slot 2... They were definitely great for making the enemy side of the board look a real mess - sending four hex strips of fire across the landscape. I can't recall if flame spread in SPWW2 (the older version), but there wasn't any real need for it to do so - you could just plaster the territory with fire. I suspect they will be even more effective in SPWAW. Mental note - must buy some of these toys and try them out...

Yup your right rexmonday, its the Wurfrahmen 40. In the OOBs its avalible from about 41 on and its only cost like 45 points. It has 5 ammo for its HE reckets and 1 for the incendiary. This makes it possable for ths ammo truck to reload it every turn. In my test I was fireing most every turn and I turned the other side of the map into a burning wastland. This was with only 8 of them costing me around 400 points along with the two ammo trucks costing 100. Think they got to fix this. Them Wurfrahmen 40 should cost at the very list 100 points a pice and you should not be abil to buy them before 42 or 43.

Drake: Nah, if they were available in '41, then the game shouldn't delay their availability.

actually... I don't think they are as tough as in SPWW2ver2.?. They fire more incendiaries in that version and really lit up the sky. Have you noticed how they sometimes fall prey to the old multiple tube artillery bug - if you fire them as indirect fire on a hex they can see (with the Z key), the second set of 'tubes' (the flame rockets) sometimes defaults to a previously targeted hex. If nothing else this can balance out their MIGHTY POWER. I was running a couple of short games as tests with them after seeing your posting, and yes, I incinerated a couple of my own scout units. I can accept this readily for rocket munitions - they aren't famed for their accuracy (correct me if I am wrong). Going up against the USSR in '41 they didn't fare as well as you made them - the tanks sometimes just shrugged off incendiary rockets. They dealt pretty well with infantry though - send a couple targetted at the enemies rear most hexes and try and destroy their HQ before the game really begins. Against a force of UK infantry in the desert, well there were a couple of survivors, but they won't have wanted to sit too close to a fire ever again. Very nice for clearing out infantry in the desert. A hint - use the HE rockets as indirect fire, rather than targetted (ie. Z key not T key) and aim them into the centre of a platoon: they generate a lot of collateral damage this way. Still, they are not as BAD as in Spww2

These things are awesome. Make things a bit too easy IMHO. These should be either a lot more expensive, or 'handicapped' some way. IMO the 'old' reload rule mentioned above seems a good way to achieve this, as you'd still have the same historical accuracy for your weapons, without the devastating effect they have on game play. OTOH, maybe it's just the wurfrahmen/ammo truck combo that's the problem, and it's the ammotruck that needs tweaking. It's cheaper than an ammo dump, but a lot more flexible and damn near invulnerable when used with your on board arty.(It shouldn't get spotted nor hit by counterbty) The major problem I see with both supply units is the unlimited amount of ammo they stock. This is what puts the DOOM in Doomsday. Try getting as much use out of them without ammo trucks/dumps and you'd consider them too expensive. I used two platoons of the napalm flame rockets in a recent PBEM spww2 ver3.0 game. the time was 2/45. i was expecting great things to happen. the graphics are really cool but my russian comrade informed me after the game that they were more effective causing widespread/longterm suppression than actual kill damage. i tested out the flame rocket HT's from SPwaw recently in a practice game and when concentrated, wiped out hordes of infantry.
