I know it was explained somewhere (can't the thread) about the new types of victory hexes. I found some in the second battle of Bill's Utah to the Rhine Campaign (sneaky Bill, sneaky). My question is - what's the point? In most tactical operations I've participated in, we had very well defined objectives, and for the scope of the game aren't we talking about small unit tactics? So I guess I'm missing the significance of victory hexes that only appear when you get close to them. Are we supposed to move around the whole board with recon units amking sure we find all these hexes? I did pretty good on the Caretan Battle, but I would like to understand your twisted logic Bill, maybe get some insight on what is coming next for now it's on to Berigny. By hiding the victory hexes, Major Ed, and leaving them neutral, the enemy can't grab them early and then sneak in bonus points that will count against you. A points by turn objective counts points each turn. If it is hidden and not discovered till the turn it is revealed and is set on neutral, no points go to either side. I tried to set them early enough that you would see them. This helps to insure that the final score is fair for the human player. I understand your reasoning for clear cut objectives and you are right. To make the points work out as they should, I chose this route. I tried to place them in places that would be in a path of advance anyway. Sorry if it was confusing...Wild Bill ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

Hey they fueled my advance!!! I would have stopped to defend the objectives I had but new ones kept popping up so I kept advancing (scored 20k points) ------------------ I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a differant direction!
