I do not want to get into a discussion on schedule beyond my monthly status reports. While I report status to Matrix weekly (and in some detail), and I believe that is the right thing to do, I begrudge the time reports take from other things. I always hated management meetings during which valuable hours were lost that could have been spent on tasks directly reltated to finishing the project. When I was in management ( I co-managed a group of 32 AI programmers et al) we had a single 1 hour meeting that was tightly scheduled: it started on time and ended on time with no exceptions. If one topic ran long, then all attendees had to agree to reduce the time on some other topic. We started at 9:00 AM and walked out of the room at 10:00 AM. The other 39 hours of the week were spent on projects.
