How flexible will the AI be in responding to an ahistorical Japanese opening? For example, if KB stikes Manila instead of PH will the AI respond accordingly or does it assume a PH opening attack?

The AI is scripted to mostly deal with LCU triggers so base x falls or line y is crossed by an LCU - it doesnt react at a strategic level to carrier raids alone other than to use local forces already there.

So if your ahistroic opeing involves attacking new Cal on day 3 with LCU's or landing at karachi or landing on Mersing then the AI will react

Interesting. I'm planning to port my War Plan Orange scenario over immediately. (It's easy to port--redeploy the PH strike forces to Kure and replace Yamamoto with Yonai.)
