On the subject of running I tried to get back into it but my poor knees can't handle the punishment so I've gotten back into biking. Good exercise and there are many paths around Denver to keep me entertained.

I've been trying running myself....but i don't like doing so because it is hard on the knees.....and i want my knees to last another 40 years!

Biggest challenge for me right now is stress-caused health issues that make it difficult for me to do endurance exercises. Some days i'm lucky to get around the neighborhood on my bike without ending in a heart thudding, knee knocking mess. On good days i can still achieve something almost approaching dignity. My recent Round II vs. Poo Poo point in Issaquah Washington made me feel a bit better about myself. Tough hike almost straight up.

Good evening - Tithe.

Watched Casino Royale earlier this evening, and it's almost time to watch Quantum of Solace, but first I have to upgrade the stupid firmware in my POS blueray player.

I think Casino Royale is now my favorite Bond film.

Thanks, Nik. I was kinda lookin' around for a good description of my old high-school girlfriend Joan. This one fits her perfectly. She was big on kissin', but, as soon as you rounded first base, the girl went absolutely defensively spastic. I thought she was just a nutso Catholic chick, but, when I stopped calling her, she called me. Asked me to take her to this one rather secluded public park she knew of. When we got there, told me, "Don't do anything you don't want to do" (apparently her double-negative way of working around the guilt from the idea that she really wanted to give it up big time).

You talk about a hike that was almost straight up...

That's only a recent penance, imposed by that stinkin' god - i mean, "He From Whom All Blessings Flow" - following one of our slight disagreements.

Seems the old boy took umbrage at my considering his management of the cosmos something less than "optimal." See, I had the nerve to tell him that plagues, lightning bolts, eternal damnation and such were strictly bush league these days.

When he asked what I would recommend as a substitute, I merely suggested, "Try mortality yourself once, bub."

Sheesh. What a sorehead - I mean - "He Who Created All, Knows All, Is All-Powerful, and Controls Fate" - what a control freak grumble, mumble.

Yah. Francesca always likes that I get morning wood, and I ain't talkin' about heatin' up coffee water, either.

She giggles and says, "Looks like somebody's up for his muffin this morning." Lotta fun, Francesca. Almost as much as her sister Helena...

If your talking battleships....yes.

Dive bombers, especially these dive bomber boys......are more accurate than attempting a torp attack, as the Cornwall and Dorsetshire found out in spades. I think the Japanese acheived a record on this one....something like 80%+ hits

They claimed 80%+ hits. They actually obtained 16 hits and near-misses on Cornwall and 12 or so on Dorsetshire, the first seven of which doomed her, out of 53 bombers. So still not bad, but much closer to 60%. My impression though was that the reserve bombers would have been kept in reserve to deal with the Eastern Fleet had it shown up with its panoply of lumbering capital ships.
