Hi all,

Well, Greg House spent the last five episodes of last season hallucinating massively because of Vicodin, and he's a fictional character, just like LogBoy, so why not?

Yes... it was a real shame... I hoped he would settle down with hospital administrator...

BTW, many years ago there was one very very interesting movie called "The Jacob's Ladder"... great move from great book... captivating idea... "perhaps the dream is dreaming us"...

i think i'd need alot more Vic to get that bad......given my last visit to the dentist was a year ago.....and before that 6 years.....i don't think i'm in any danger. Given that rarity, one takes the opp when they are presented with it..

OOOHHHH THE PAIIN!!!!! PAIN!!!!!

Excellent acting by Hugh Laurie at the end of the season finale, when House finally realizes that he's hallucinated everything about him and Cuddy.

He's standing stock still, not saying anything, but you can SEE in his face how his entire world is collapsing.

Good point-counterpoint sequence between the Chase/Cameron wedding and House and Wilson driving to the mental hospital, too.

I was never really able to get into House as much after the Cameron/Chase thing started.

House is a GF unit favorite. She got me into it and now along with NCIS, we own all the currently released on DVD seasons. Having not seen too many as of yet we are going through them in order. We're still on Season 1

I love "House MD" (and Hugh Laurie always)...

BTW the "13" is also very nice...

So name one medical show that DOESN'T get test results in 24 hours which would have taken two weeks in the real world. Suspension of disbelief, Robert...

Good morning, Diane Lane! - Tithe.

Now, that, I enjoy waking up to.

Man, I don't know what you guys see in these skinny-legged, straggly-haired, no-junk-in-the-trunk white women.

This Diane Lane's got her a bad case of the George Bush chicken lips.

Brothers, I give you Sophie Marceau....

Victim: OHHH THE PAIN!!! THE PAIN!!!!

Doc: Where does it hurt?

Victim: Right here....

Doc: *SCHNICK!!*

Victim: AAAAAUUUUUGGHHHH!!!!!

Doc: See? It doesn't hurt now, does it?

Victim: NO BUT THIS DOES NOW!!!!

Doc: Get over it.

Uh, no... he gets results in 24 hours that could NEVER happen in the real world... and acts in a fashion that would have in jailed/had his medical license revoked/been sued out of existence... and for a brilliant doctor he uses his cane in the wrong hand!

Well, okay... If you want to be pedantic...

It's an entertainment show, and it entertains me, even though I know it's not realistic.

BTW - i'm not sure when they stopped using rabbits, but by the late 60's at least they had gone to frogs... less expensive, less cuddly... by the early 70's the direct test for HCG was invented.

The plan was to stop using frogs and start using lawyers. Nobody cared if you croaked (pardon the expression) and dissected a lawyer (in fact, the SPCA and PETA were all in favor), but scientists discovered that lawyer ovaries tended to lie about the results or confuse them so much, you didn't know if you were pregnant or not ... for several months, anyway.

I feel the same about the show "Dexter". He's supposed to be a likable psycho, but to me he's just a psycho.

House is borderline psychotic, but he's on the right side of the border (mostly)...

i like plenty of nonrealistic shows, but tend not to like those that present themselves as realistic... and again, the fact that i don't like House the character is a dealbreaker.

And yet, people here get SOOOO upset about relatively minor inaccuracies in a recent war film...

If the writers of House had written a movie about 7 December (preserving relative accuracy of the show House to real events):

The KB accompanied by the superbattleships YAMATO, MUSHASHI, and SHINANO sneak up on the Hawaiian islands, making their final dash to attack at 1200 kts.

After the jet-powered Zeros destroy the fleet, the YAMATO, MUSHASHI, and SHINANO move in and shell the US bases.

A cranky but brilliant cripple deduces where the IJN fleet will go to next based on his enormous codebreaking ability, then when those in command don't take him seriously, he commandeers a biplane trainer, locates the enemy fleet and destroys it by strafing it with his .45 Colt pistol!

Hmmm... maybe Hollywood beckons??
