arrrg! it is with great reget i post this. but once again i have to relocate. I have to withdraw from the GG tourny as I cant put the time and commitment in. I just moved out of a relationship and the situation I escaped to is untenable and I need to focus on doing it all over again...

I really wanted to participate in this, I apologize for the crap created by bailing out on it.

Kyle.

rjh1971, SGT Rice, as we are still very early in Round 1, would you agree to close ranks and play each other now that KyleK retired? Technically you have already qualified for Round 2 by playing against an opponent MIA but it looks too easy after one or two turns. And we'd like to see an AAR

Please let me know and I will adjust the roster accordingly.

Too bad, hope things turn out well for you, if that would ever happened to me it'd be like Bryan Adams sings: she gets the house and the car and I get the clothes I got on, women...

It wouldn't be fair to qualify this way specially since we hadn't even started the game, so I'll play Chris (SGT Rice), now I'm playing two of the best so I'd be lucky if I can get to phase two .
Will send SGT the same turn I sent Kylek so I don't have to change the report in the AAR, just its headline.

Hmmm I just saw your posts regarding SGT Rice victory and mine due to KyleK going MIA, in the AAR threads I will start a brand new game and send it to Chris this evening.

It does not matter if the games would have stalled in 1939 or 1945, as you did start the games and as your opponent went MIA it would seem unfair to not reward you with the qualifying bonus as stated in the rules.

Hmmm ok then me and SGT Rice are the first two to qualify for 2nd round , easiest victory ever
Nonetheless I have sent Chris an opening to make the AAR, he hasn't rplied yet but he will eventually. AAR has also been started

I'll be happy to play Rafael instead; doesn't matter to me if it counts as a 1st or 2nd round game.

I rather see this as Game 1 of Round 2, this allows you to take it slow. Round one seems to be in full swing with some games half-done after about one week

update after 6 weeks:

most games are finished, however the 3 last games to be finished all can impact who advances to round 2. All players waiting for round 2 to kick off will need some more patience...

Hi all:

I will be able to do daily turns until july 10th, then I'll be off for two weeks, and don't know how much time I'll have when I come back.
Arthur it would be great if we could do several turns per day this weekend in order to finish our game.

Hi guys been waiting since the 2nd of July for my turn to be sent back to me... and ive only received four turns in the last month...

I have sent several emails to BenT asking him when the next turn is going to be sent but so far i havent hear anything since the 2nd...

Is the stall period still four weeks??? That seems like an awfully long time and will definately hold up the tourny...

Round 1 final update:

Axis prevailed 6 out of 8 times, there seems to be a pattern.

Interesting observation, among the 7 finished games (excl the two MIAs), 5 of them are axis victory vs only 2 allied victory.
Is the GG v1.040 make life easier for the axis? Lets see how things are going in the second round.

make it 5-3 as the rjh1971-SGT Rice game went the Allied side, too. Generally speaking I agree the Axis seems slightly in favour but IMO that is in great parts due to better players' abilities as Axis. In Round 2 we may find a better Allied proficiency.

Hi again from the MIA's. Just thought that I would let every one know that we will be finished our game this week so we will have a result before the end of July dead line

Sounds great - remember you do not need to finish the whole game until then, if the Axis survives until Winter 1946 it is an Axis victory already. The degree of victory does not matter for scoring purposes. Please post a SC of the standings when the game is decided.

Here are the round 2 pairings. Some mix & match to give everbody two new opponents.

Good luck to everyone!

Edited per xianing's request. No games started yet so it should not be a problem.

As Armorhero is my friend and we have already run many games between us, could I just propose to separate us in this round so we could meet some new opponents ?

I changed the roster. However, it is highly likely that the next round will see you play each other as you will have played most other opponents by then.

Apologies all ... I've been remiss in posting to the AAR thread. Hope I have time to update sometime this week.

My game with Armorhero ended with an Axis Auto Victory in early 1943.
