Apologies if this has been brought up before...but here it goes anyway.

Currently, when we click on a ship, or plane or ground unit's description, we get a whole bunch of wonderful information on it. We're all familiar with those interfaces by now...or mostly anyway ;) What I find is that it makes me really value and care for the ships that I have under my command...especially the CVs for some reason.

What I'm wondering is why we don't have something similar when we click on a pilot or leader's name? I'm thinking of a more fleshed out system for getting information on the personalities we see with the game. What started this thought is that I see, in passing mind you, various pilots getting promoted and I'm not finding myself getting invested on the progression of these people in the game. Now....I'm not too sure if fleshing out a "character screen" for each pilot/leader will do that, but I'm wondering what will.

I'm not looking for something like an RPG system, but the fact that these elements within the game gain experience, rank, etc points somewhere in that direction.

...any thoughts?

Do you know how many leaders and pilots there are in the game?  ... and you want character histories for each of them?  That's a lot of programming for virtually no gain in the overall game experience, IMO.

No no...not histories or anything that crazy. Just pass up the data to a UI much like we have for the ships instead of the current "listing" of pilots/personalities that's in there now.

...if it's too much coding for zero gain, then forget about it, but it would unify the UI approach for all the elements of the game IMHO.

By histories, I mean all the things that happen during the game, not bios.  So I think I got your point.  You want to see promotions, when WIA, where WIA, that kind of stuff that the game can capture during ops.  We already see those pilots that have kills and where they're assigned (by unit).  I don't know that anyone else really wants to see more.  That's my point.
