1. 30 day return on disband to pool
2. No experience loss for disband to pool
3. Eliminate fragment manipulation
4. Fix training -- went from possibly to fast to way too slow. Need a happy medium.

I wouldn't mind having some way of improving the skills (i.e. continuing the training of) the pilots that are sitting around AFTEr they complete their one year course. What about some "advanced" training?

Well, you can influence the guys that are working on patch

Once I've trained up a unit on primary skills, I shift the unit to "general" training and then it can train up on other skills, like defense.

Joe, have you tried this with either the public beta or patch 1, and if so do you really see much in the way of defense skill increase?

Joe, I just ran a quick test, head-to-head, current patch, one 3-day turn sequence. I used the three IMAF Nate units in Manchuria, moved them to harbin and pulled in pilots from the pool so they were each 16 pilots big (although at most 12 will fly). Set to 100% general training. At the end of three days, no increases in any pilot's defensive skill. For that matter, no increase in any skill, period - no green or yellow. (General experience on a couple of pilots did bump up slightly.)

Either I'm doing something wrong or things have change drastically since the initial release.

Here's an example of the three units. Skills are generally in the toilet yet not a single one improved in three days training.

Yeah, I'm still on 1080. Us software guys don't much like to upgrade "mid-game".

So is this working as intended or not? If it is working as intended in the new patch, is there anyway to downgrade to earlier versions of this game? This, in a short time, will turn into a game killer and I dread to think of restarting a PBEM again after making it to March the first time and close to May in my current game.

That would explain it The rest of us poor slobs are trying to explain to our 1.084 pilots that you go the runway in the long direction.

Sure, just reinstall into a new folder and then delete the other folder (or not).

I for instance usually have about 5-7 folders of AE going for the various versions I need to have to test (as well as play).

Awesome - thanks Joe!

I would guess this will keep the database changes though from the latest patch?

Do you know if pilot training, skill increases from combat are being looked at for a future patch?

Ah, just thinking I may not have been clear - is it possible to move down from 1804 to 1800 with a game in progress?

I haven't tried it, but you're welcome to. I'd still do it the way I suggested, fresh install to separate folder, then copy the save over and see what happens. If this is PBEM game, Japanese player should do first.

Excellent - thanks! I'll try it for grins and see what happens on a backup save

I doubt this will work. IIRC there was a save file format change with 1083. I doubt pre-1083 versions will be able to read 1083 and later save files.
