How does ice form at temperatures above freezing? Is this some Florida thing?

Because official temperatures are recorded between 4 and 6 feet above ground. The bird bath is closer to the ground than that. The temperature at ground level is usually cooler. Therefore the bird bath at about 3 feet above ground was lower than 32 Deg F. (It was probably at about 31).

Glad you made it back safely, Per! There are very few people in the US, even in Minnesota, who would drive that in those conditions.

That's why there are so many great Swedish and Finnish rally drivers!

By the way...

I have security level clearance 6. Anyone with a clearance level of 5 or below is to be shunned as a wanton pariah and threat to the state.

What, you ask, does security level clearance 6 allow me? Well, I'd be happy to explain, but then I'd have to kill you.

Oh yeah? Well, I'm a security level clearance 7. Yeah, that's the ticket!

"...yeah, yeah, and I was explaining my security to clearance to my wife....Morgan Fairchilds. Yeah, that's right. Morgan Fairchilds..."

We have no security level, but...
Our main officer once told ( i swear it's true):
"We have no secret to hide, but nonetheless there is no need to say what's going on in here"

So you drove from your parents place back South to your current home ? I bet that was a long drive. We think we have a big snow fall around here if we get 3 or 4 inches

Yes and yes. It was roughly 960 km which is ~600 miles or ~13 AE games hexes . Actually, it didn't snow that much, but the wind was blowing at 22-28 knots which meant it teared up snow and ice particles from the side of the road messing with the sight. Polished the road surface quite good as well. Ah yes, temp was -14C (~7F).

That sounds like the drive from hell. How long did it take you to do this?

Normally it takes roughly 10,5 hrs including breaks. Now it took close to 14 hours. It was kind of exhausting yes - you couldn't relax for a second.

Now back to that AE turn to see what mischief the Jap has managed to come up with. Goes great with morning

There is a chance of a few light snow showers forecast for us on Friday. It's now Tuesday, but I'll bet the reaction of the public in your area to the blizzard forecast is about equal to the semi-panic that is already setting in here.

My eyes haven't really from yesterdays ordeal - they still feel like somebody had dumped a truckload of gravel in them.

I think I need an afternoon nap.

I gave the Luftwaffe a spanking It ended (a day earlier than the manual claims) because the LW didn't have a high enough AS score. IIRC the AS score was off from the manual as well, maybe just as well for the Germans though. I'd just got a fresh injection of fighter squadrons and the Spitfire and Hurri IIs were entering service.
I told you I was winning Although I struggled a bit during the second week, several units took some hard knocks, I still had plenty of reserves available. I've got BoB games against Hard Sarge (as RAF) and sprior (as LW) and BTR against swift as the Allies.

I've got 1 game of BOB as the crabs, 2 of BTR, 1 on each side and 2 games of AE going, both as Japan.

I've also got Life on Mars (see above) to watch, Star Trek and Red Dward Series 1 on DVD, which I shall be watching with the commentaries on too.

And my wife says I have no life!
