LOL, in the 10th MTN we once did an obstacle course in snowshoes. That just wasn't right at all, I strained muscles that I didn't know I had. I think the whole thing was to give CSM Sexton a laugh

Nope. Modern apartment windows are screened in that prevents one from reaching outside--no doubt to prevent you from dropping things on pedestreans! And there's no need to put stuff outside during a power failure. No power=no heat. So the inside will soon be the same as outside. Fortunately having lived in Maine, Florida and on Guam , I'm always well stocked , well supplied and prepared for such emergencies. That's why I can laugh at the rest of the Metro area that considers it to be a disaster when Starbucks and McDonalds are closed (they both were!).

I agree, but sadism has a humor aesthetic all it's own. That is a trait senior NCOs seem to have in spades.

Yesterday I did go to the local grocery store, which I was absolutely amazed to see had been about 60% restocked! I did it mostly out of curiousity (and to some degree cabin fever). I was astounded to see fresh produce! Raspberries were on sale! In the middle of a "snow emergency" Chilean raspberries were not only available but on sale! Inconsievable!

They get it in the cloning tanks. If you think about all the stories people tell of their DI or platoon sergeant or whatever, they all sound remarkably similar. Gotta be clones.

And we are half-way through day five of "Snow-pocalypse" (as it has been so declared by our President) and DC is waiting with bated breath for the next 20+ inches of snow. Frankly , I perfer "snow-mageddon" .

The government is closed (again) , the Metro is finally back up ,(but preparring to shut down as soon as the accumulation hits 8", little of the previous snow has been removed, airports and trains have just restored service , and are preparring to shut down. They opened just long enough to evacuate all the stranded tourists.

And I'm finally catching up on reading and watching old movies and long dead TV shows (on DVD).




I think I'd prefer for the government to be closed. They can't get us into any more trouble if theyre not there.

At least you had snow. Last Friday they were forecasting 2-3" (which we never got) and we had lines at the supermarket.

I believe it. When we did our snow training, they would "simulate artillery" every half hour or so. Apparently, Its was very amusing to watch the kids flop in the snow and then struggle to get out.

12-14", thank you very much. I dont have to cope at all. In fact, I dont plan to leave the house. As a bonus, GFU's classes may be canceled. Unemployment does have certain advantages.
