I noticed

... and you're right - Mission of Honor isn't out yet. I am, however, a long time customer of Baen Books and their partner Webscriptions. This means that I frequently get offers to buy an ARC (Advance Reader Copy - qoute from Webscriptions; "This is an unproofed manuscript and is guaranteed to be full of typos and error. It is pretty much raw from the authors word processor. But you get the entire ARC well in advance of even the WebScription release")

It's the sequel to "At All Costs". At the same time, it meshes this storyline with the "Honor"-side of both the "Torch of Freedom" and "Storm from the Shadows" storylines.

I won't comment on what happens - I wouldn't want to spoil your experience

So I get to see all the mistakes Weber makes while typing?

And if you tell me youre active on the Honorverse board I think I might actually faint.

Just finished re-reading the seiries for the third time (my wife is currently just finishing it--she wants a tree-cat!). You know Yuri , you might like the Lt. Leary series. While Honor Harrington is based on CS Forrester , the Leary books by David Drake, is based upon Patrick O'Brien's. And I recall that you liked those books very much!

Speaking of Military fiction , my wife just saw Sharpe's Rifles, and wants to read the books! Heck at this rate , in a year I'll have her playing WITP!

On the one hand, that nothing new. My dad once got blasted in the butt with rock salt for stealing apples when he was a kid. But damn, talk about overkill.

Overkill? People have been shooting thieves for centuries.

My plan would be to put a sign out first: "If you want some potatoes, come ask me. I will give you some."

If they still steal potatoes, they deserve to get shot. Dead.

Or blown into tiny little parts.......or electrocuted.......or pungiied..........

It's certainly highly annoying, but I dont think its worth it to take a human life over. But we can agree to disagree.

Human lives have been taken over much , much less. Go a week without food some time and see what you'd do for a snickers bar.

Dang! I hope Steve doesn't read that.

I had the idea 1st! And he still hasn't put up alligators in the moat, machine gun towers or concerta wire! And despite all the stories, you still can't get land mines at a Florida gun show. Machine guns , yes, but no land mines. Of course there's always civil war artillery!

He gets some props for homemade mines in my book.

Yeah but store bought is always better.....now where do I find claymores? And no , not that silly oversize sword that the Scottish re-enactors sling over their backs!

You guys are so narrow minded!

Why resort to violence? You can just paste the fence with pictures of T's toe and blast bad 80's music. No one will even come near the place.

Think outside the box, dammit!

Hell, I want a tree-cat. They are irreverent, sarcastic bastards. In others words, a perfect fit for my personality.

Lt. Leary Commanding, et al? I've heard good things about it. In fact, I think I started reading it but something got in the way. I'll definitely give it a shot. Drake better be damn good to match PO'B's writing ability, though. The story itself completely aside, what I adore the most about A/M is the dialogue. How I wish people still spoke that way.

When I was a newlywed , my sweet demure little wife put my oversize speakers in the living room windows to deal with the upstairs neiighbor and his not stop crappy acid rock. Wagner on setting 11 straighten him out! He always kept the music down after that!

The 1st book in the seiries is With the Lightnings. It's called the RCN , the Leary , or the Cinibar seiries , depending on the reference.

Don't worry about it. We've kinda been pushing your buttons a bit ya know.

In all seriousness, I'm a firm believer in the value of human life. But I am far more angered when the downtrodden and weak amongst us fall than the predators.

Did you try deleting the files you are replacing first? That's what did it for me. 64-bit Vista.
