What the hell can you expect from a REMF?

Or a computer geek. Present company excepted, of course.

That's such an old vietnam era term. The current word is "fobbit".

It was still around as recently as 10 years ago.

Sure. Among civilians. So's SNAFU. And keen. And neat. And cool.

Frog legs, not so much....too much like cannibalism.

Is that because of your French roots or because you feel some strange kinship with the order Anura?

Guess!

Ummm....let me see. You grew up in Maine, where there are a lot of frogs. Then you joined the navy. Its possible that sometime during your travels you were in Costa Rica, where you had contact with a poisonous frog. The poison caused a strange mutation in your frontal lobe, causing the subject, during some episodes involving consumption of French food, to think that he is a frog.

Uuuugh.....I think I've been watching too much CSI.

Sorry , never went to Costa Rica. Puerto Rico on the other hand......

Naw. I refuse to permit the end of the world to rely on the vagaries of overstroked celebrity egos. Sure, I've heard of the twit, but to submit your actress' credentials by "starring" in a Herbie movie? Please.

By the way, if she prevails, I'm patenting the names Mike, Steve, Simon, Yuri and Kristian. I ought to pull in a cool Million annually by taxing you spambots.

No you don't! My lawyer can beat your lawyer! And better yet , mine works for free!

What makes you think she would do pro bono work for you?

Simply that since we've been married I've done the cleaning, laundry, shopping and cooking 5 out of 7 days a week (in addition to working). She can do the pro-bono legal work once every ten years or so , or she can take over her share of the household drudgery. Which would you pick?

Next question. What makes you think she knows anything about contract or copyright law?

She doesn't. But free Yuri! The operative word is free. Plus like most lawyers , she's very adept at "phone law". (You get on the phone with one of your classmates who specialized in the required subject!).

Whoa, don't drag my Counrty into this.
Tithe!@!

Who said anything about Texas?

Steve, no one has mentioned either steers or queers. And I think its very tactless of you to bring this subject up like this.

I said Texas, not Kansas city! Get your cultural references in a row boyo!

I could say the same about your movie references.

And gear. Don't forget gear. And fab. How did you lose groovy? Hip? Nobody hipped you to that? Jammin'? Bad?

Bummer. No wonder the Vietnamese started re-education camps after the great victory.

I'm enjoying the AAR for the tongue in cheek romp it is. I might even be learning some Jackspeak-although I steadfastly refuse to ever use it.

I know, Steve, I shouldn't have said that. I have a frequent tendency to be unfunny in an offensive way:

[[shortly after the Columbine High School shootings]]
(to a new junior writer): "I need to talk to you about this report you just gave me."
(preppy little creep): "Yes, sir?"
(my punchline): "If you keep producing this kind of trash, I'm going to have to call in the trenchcoat mafia."

[[while walking, angry and preoccupied, into a subordinate department where I didn't go very often]]
(smiling, cute young secretary): "Well, hello, sir, we haven't seen you here for quite awhile."
(me, without even looking up): "Yah, I'm trying to cut down on my contact with lowlife."

Sigh. You may not believe it, but I wish I wouldn't have...

Stop that. Creuza is 28 and VERY legal ... she's almost constitutional.

She just has that delicious look like fresh, ripe boysenberries.
