Is everyone feeling fine around here? The game is dragging again. The game will take more than 2 years to finish at the current rate of play-not good.

Agreed, just need Sweden's turn this round. Seems like every turn I get all the files but one (never the same one) in very quickly.

Replied.

Spain will BURN for their plundering and pillaging of our cities, such barbaric ways to wage war (a sneak attack war by the way) will NOT BE TOLERATED!!!

HiHi

England T106 sent in.

Those folk that continually hold up the game may choose to reflect that when the new Patch arrives these games will probably all be scrapped, and when new games are set up they ain't so likely to be invited, so I'll say it again, if you have a valid RL reason for delay, fine, everybody has that at sometime or other, but at least have the common courtesy to advise your fellow Gamers via the MB's

All the Best
Peter

Turkey's turn 106 in.

Bitch session-
I used the colonial troops naval upgrade-very expensive-and I got zip in return. Militia are not supposed to count until the matching province quantity is exceeded. This may be why I did not receive anything-lousy way to find out.

Battle of Crete; 3 divisions lost-totally gone due to battle with one militia-WTF-over?? :) Perhaps that was due to the units not having a supply chain while doing an amphibious landing. Lousy way to find out.

At least I finally saw how to make sea depots. This opens some doors-perhaps a door to Austria.
Looks like Emperor Matto is inducting school boy's and grand papas' for one big push-this will be interesting.

HiHi

I think Mus has already raised the Colonial regiments issue for the next Patch, like several other Bits & Bobs (of the top of my head on the Naval side, Naval acadamies, Docks/Barracks to improve ship builds) it doesn't work.

Re amphib landings I think it's only England & france that don't automatically disrupt on landing so that may be part the prob, + a supply chain does help :-)

In case there's anyone else out there not sure how to get Supply depots at sea then Right click on the Sea province and click 'Build Depot'.

All the Best
Peter

Hehe I received 6 files with a quickness yesterday. As always happens, just need one more for the merge. Not that we went over 48 hrs or anything, just seems to be the way it goes.

It has been about 48 hours since you sent the turn out. Perhaps it would be helpful if you prompted him with a post here-perhaps he did not get it-or forgot about it.

Turkey's 108 in.

BTW, Kingmaker and I are in another CoG game (a four X). We have banged out 43 turns in 35 days. We even have had a few days off from playing. It sure would be something if we could approach that speed with this game-at least for a little while.

Hmm-interesting. I suppose that the reverse is true about the slowpokes.

Seriously, having the rapid turnaround eliminates wasted in game time. A quick look at the diplomacy screen, a look at the events list and then do your military and development. A turn can be completed (in a competent fashion) in less than 5 minutes. There is no need to rehash every single thing in every turn-because you know what is going on. It's easy to do when its only been a day since you looked at it.

We would have finished this game already if we maintained that schedule. Even with he 48 hour turnaround would have put us at about turn 135-halfway there. With the exception of about a dozen very long turnarounds (which has cost us about 30 turns) we have not really done that bad in 109. However, there certainly is room for improvement.

Well, we are coming up to the 72 hour mark-again, well past the agreed 48 hour max, without a turn. What's going on? This game will never get finished moving at this rate. I wonder if the 48 hour rule was misinterpreted; it could read that you are not supposed to get a turn finished in less that 48 hour-96 good-24 baaad.

Since I posted my last turns completion in 109 5 turns have passed in another CoG game which I'm participating. If someone does not want to play the game -fine, no problem. If that's the case with anyone, then it would be better to
look around for a replacement player-someone who wants to play.

Merging the turns gives some comical, or tragic, insight. This time you can give me some blame as one of the returns contained the 'All' files and I didn't realize it until I went to merge the files yesterday. Otherwise we would have had the turn done a day earlier.

Gondor has lit the beacons... does Spain have any friends?

What is the Sultan thinking I wonder? Perhaps he will be happier with an unltra powerful France which noone can challenge as GP leader?

Aha-well that does happen. I have sent the wrong files once or twice-and likewise, have sat on the incorrect files for half a day. If I knew the reason for the delay, I would not have been -eh, making my concerns known.

Perhaps, but they are in the closet. England is not really your enemy, just a parasite that you cannot reach.

The Sultan has grown weary of the stalemates. History must advance-for this to occur, some eggs must be cracked. At this time, Madrid is the biggest and prettiest egg. France may become a problem in the future-time will tell.

Atleast he does NOT side with backstabbers
And unless memory serves me incorrectly France is a mere #3 in the race, far behind...Spain...

Oh, and replied btw

England T109 sent in.

Maybe worth keeping in mind that Spain would probably still be allied with England but for her 'Sneak attack'; as Russia discovered upsetting Englands sence of "Fair play" can be costly

Turkey T109 in.

One little oddity; among the units that were returned at the conclusion of the Austro/Turkish war were the units I lost in the failed landing in Crete. The Crete battle was against a rebel force. The island was not under Austrian control-or even the rebels as the city was garrisoned. This is something I did not expect. Also, one of the divisions returned from that ugly landing was a cowardly irregular cavalry. It is now an infantry unit-hopefully it will not be limited to moral gain as was the irregulars.
