Home with a messed up back tithe......

What did you do to your back, Steve? You can't be laid up. You have packing and moving to do!

No kidding! And I'm supposed to start my househunting road trip! I've put off departure till Monday, and I'm babying it with ibopropen and a heating pad. It seems to be a problem with tension vice an actual pull, so I'm pretty sure things will be alright. I'm just going to force myself to take it easy this weekend.

I'm sure beer will fix ya right up. Feel better.

That's the killer. No booze for me. And the latest change...we drive on Sunday!

You listen to doctors? Good Thread, man! What kind of a sailor are you?

A retired one.

Although frowned upon, the last time I had back spasms a Vicodin and a couple of beers were all that was required. Hope you feel better.

Many thanks....BTW , I have beer. VICODIN you say?

Now that you mention it, I have the remnants of a 6-pack of Dos Equis in the fridge. I'll have one for you. Hope it makes you feel better.

Edit: Did I mention that I can speak French in Russian?

Probably about as well as I speak Russian in English.

Man, I seriously thought about replying to Leo in a PM.  Now I wish I had.

T is reacting very strongly, but he's also very right that one of the cardinal rules of THE THREAD!!! is no politics.

There are too many of us here who come from very different backgrounds and political positions to let it rear it's ugly head.  Keeping politics out of THE THREAD!!! keeps it a refuge from most of the rest of the crap on the internet.  My apologies to all my Thread Brothers for not remembering that.

As I recall, I was the first one to reply. So if there is any blame, it's on me. However, I stand by my previous statement. All jokes aside, we are adults, and can respect each other and each others opinions (at least in theory and until proven otherwise).

It's all your fault, I blame you. Seriously , I agree with you totally! God, what's the world coming too!

Morning Guys... hope everybody is well (back is not too painful). I see there has been some toys thrown around, and that 'someone' has left the building. Hopefully the exile doesn't stay away too long (I need his spell-checking), and the rest of us try and stop being adults (If you don't like that bite me).

Good morning! Don't worry about T. He'll be back. He likes it too much here. He doesn't even still play the game, and he still comes back. He just needs a little time for a good sulk. It will do him good.

Mike to have a political discussion requires taking a political position. We didn't. Leo asked us how the bill would affect us, not our opion. We discussed the bill from a non-partisan , detached point of view. Exactly as we discuss the 2nd world war. Not as political advocates , but as historians. T has given his opion many times, on almost every subject under the sun , with a lot less consideration for the opions, concerns and feelings of others that you have and continue to show. In my view , you have nothing to apologize for. Nor do the rest of us.

Actually, Steve, mea culpa. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa (they strike their breasts). I *did* revert to opinion where none was called for. I clearly labeled my opinion as such. In hindsight, I should have offered none.

That being said, I agree with your observations re: Terminus' offering of his opinion on other topics such as his personal political thoughts on Haiti or certain member's questionable genetic heritage elsewhere in the Forum. I think I've even called him on it / them more than once.

None of us are infallible. Some are more fallible than others. If (or rather when) I do offend those on THE THREAD, I hope that they will patiently help me to ratchet my discourse back down a notch or two. Calm understanding and patience are the orders of the day.

Dude, as a warning, go easy on the combo. Bad juju for you if you combine too much alcohol with opiods or other depressants.

Well where do I start... I've been looking for a game with a good AI, as I haven't got the time to play WitP.AE PBEM's full time, as my spare time comes in fits and starts now. Now don't get me wrong, as I love AE, but I don't like the AI. I only play it in PBEM. I have played the old War in Russia for years, so I'm sold on this new War in the East (been following it for a while). The Avatar is me; a crotchety old one eyed bad-tempered General (arm-chair)... so there bite me.

Rest easy. Vicodin's not available at your average 7-11. I'm surviving on Motrin and NO alcohol of any kind.

Hope this helps it make a bit more sense. Its not very humble of me posting that, being the inspiration for this ad campaign, but I just couldnt let you go through life without getting the reference to that joke.

Are you OK with vanilla WitP?

And no, I havent forgotten. I had taken your previous post as insinuation that you had....ummm, neglected to recall that I was very much ahead in our first game. Now, in your dotage, I will not hold that against you. Just wanted to set the record straight.

Consider the record set straight. While I finally got Vanilla installed and patched. I still play both vanilla and WPO. So your choice. And for the record , I felt that our games were the most evenly matched games that I've played. That's why they were so bloody.

Hi all,

Thanks guys - much appreciated!

I sincerely hope that "THE THREAD!!!" policy of no politics was not breached at all with this because this is just ordinary everyday question just like issue of being unable to commute due to snowstorm or having to pay high tax on booze in the Scandinavia...

I just asked how this much talked about thing (even outside US - believe it guys it was top news all around the world) would affect you as our thread brethren...

Again I sincerely hope that nobody was hurt (and why would be ) with this very cordial info you guys gave...
