Shouldn't it be Pull or Lift to the top! How can you bump to the top.

It's just an old Internet saying I guess. I can't remember where it originated from. Bump is like a nudge or a tap. To me "Bump" makes more sence than "Pull" or "Lift"

I guess it's where you learned English from. Dosn't "Lift" in UK mean "elevator" or "esculator" in Canada?

No, the elevator is the moving staircase! The lift is the lift!
However, depending upon the context:
1. "I say old chap would you mind awfully helping me lift my piano up the stairs."
2. "I say old chap, shall we take the lift or the stairs".

The elevator with the stairs is the escalator in Canada.

I would take the stairs, but my wife would take the elevator

( escalator is the moving stair case, elevator is the box that goes up and down.)

Hi Everyone,

Here's the latest news - we are making steady progress on the next update, but it will take 2-3 days longer than we had planned, as we want to make sure that in addition to fixing serious bugs we finish some interface enhancements and address some issues in the areas of ship design and fleet management.

Elliot has spent a lot of time focusing on the memory and load save issues as well. Turns out there are several factors involved here - he has optimized the graphic loading and reviewed how DW is using graphic memory when drawing the screen and we've saved a lot of memory in those areas. There's more work he can do here, so he'll continue with this area, as well as fixing other issues.

In addition to memory optimization, these are some of the other issues fixed so far:

* Fixed Trade negative money with another empire (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2418787)
* Fixed crash when attack abandoned ship (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2418633)
* Fixed drawing crash (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2419321&mpage=1&key=)
* Fixed Design values for Recreation center and Medical center components (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2417704)
* Fixed bug where could build advanced designs without proper tech (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2419094)
* Ships evaluate space monsters as stronger threats, keeping their distance from them when attacking (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2420346)
* Fixed UI issues after history events from Zenox (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2419586)
* Fixed exploration ships sometimes getting stuck
* Fixed Design screen issues (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2420971)
* Fixed refueling issues (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2422103)

So at this point I expect we'll have a beta by Tuesday, with an official release shortly thereafter.

Good to hear that.
Keep doing  good work but I still wonder how some of this bugs and other things get past by betatesters.
But hey you are not alone. I see games with more agressive insectoids race:).

Erik,

That's much more than I expected from this update. Good job! I hope my crashes are over with this one.
Could you please elaborate a bit more on design screen and refueling issues. What exactly have you changed?

will it include the option to disable the notification you have to click through every time you upgrade a ship design? or at least do away with it altogether?

We do, but there are already enough stickies that I think it may actually be noticed more as a normal thread.

Fair enough. I just thought sitting online and pressing the "Vent radioactive gas" button got tiresome after a while.

I just wanted to add that I will not be as active on the forum over the next day or two due to Easter, but I will be back to full speed immediately thereafter and catching up on any outstanding questions. I very much appreciate the help of informed posters who can jump in and answer questions from new customers in the meantime.

Personally I think some of those stickies can be de-stickified now

I disagree, They are all key posts to inform and attract new players.

But some of the threads could do with being merged
Plus, some of them posts are more for putting onto their website, not a forum post-release

I see. So, like, maybe put the video threads into one thread labeled accordingly.

Indeed Wade
But, in my eyes, promotion material for an already released product should be on their website (it's there for marketing and information after-all), not stickied on a forum
Stickies are for important information that is needed to be easily seen for visitors to the forum
Most potential customers will either look on the website, or actually post questions here

Prior to release, sure they are useful, as most of the regulars will neglect to check the main site for updates.
But after release, they've now been read by the regulars, and rarely would enough new visitors who pay attention be joining to warrant them having multiple stickies promoting the product
By all means, merge some of them for easy reference when anyone asks about them, but again, they have a website for that type of affairs

Of course, this is just my opinion, while I may be a web-developer of many years, I don't really deal with marketing side of things.  So the final decision rests with Matrix, but I'm just sharing my view on the matter

That and 99% of people don't go into the forums. (I actually checked the usage statistics on an article in HardOCP when I made a similar claim and it literally WAS exactly 99% :P... or rather, exactly 1% checked the forum)

Anyways... promotional material should be in the website to make it more visible to potential customers
