Blast, I'm going to have work on Saturday. No wonder I woke up feeling more like it was Monday than Saturday.

Er, it's Friday...

Well literally it means to have fish to eat and and a **** to sit on, however, it's more or less "to have your cake and eat it too" to want everything with little to no personal sacrifice, etc etc. hopefully noone else has offered a meaning yet as i haven't read up to page 748 yet.

That was very well phrased.

Sadly for you, it is supposed to be a very difficult language to speek it really well. But to be understood, i think it is manageable.
Good luck, and in case you doubt, just ask

I think I'll keep my accent. I hear French women love that. Its only fair, considering the effect a French accent has on any woman I've ever seen. Bastards.

Always wanted to learn french but i think i'd be better off learning something closer to russian. although i'm afraid of 2 close languages intermingling in my brain.

Afternoon by the way.

I (briefly) tried Romanian. I dont think it went very well.

Sadly, i must confess that speaking french is of no use actually, except for tourism in France. But nothing more request to learn it by now. 3 century ago, sciences, philosophy, history, were all discussed in french.
Well, of course, 5 century ago it was in latin, and 20 century ago it was in ancient greek . Each era has it's main language.

And tourism in Belguim,Parts of Switzerland, and many other parts of Europe where French is a second language. Not to mention many parts of Africa, the middle east, some asia and about half of Canada.

Not to mention just to be cool. Of course that also requires a passing knowledge of Latin. A bit of Arabic might not go amiss either.

About Canada.....well, Quebec is talking a old form of French. And sometimes, it is hard to understand for "modern" french (here, modern doesn't mean "better" but just "newest" ).

In Quebec I was always told it was patois. They told me it meant "Bastardized".

Latin I can handle. It was the only "foreign" laguage I could pass , so I took 4 years of it. Arabic is cool?

Yes, but it feels like Monday. I might complain that working Saturdays are bad but then I remind myself that not having a job is worse.

The part that speaks French.

Seriously, I can't tell you what country due to the nature of our trip. Just an unfortunate ramification of the political situation there.

Sounds rather clandestine.  Are you sure you're not really a "company man?"

Nah...nothing clandestine. But Westerners must be careful in many of those countries, even if their purpose is strictly humanitarian.

Well, to be cosmopolitan, yes. For a fair balance, I'd also take Japanese and Tagalog.
