I dont know if this has ever happened to anyone but im playing long camp with the germans.I went to continue a saved game i went to check the mission and it was normal except the visibility was 255.I checked the map and there were no start up flags,i could place my units ANYWHERE!To even further the craziness when i places a couple of units near the righthand side of the screen i could see all the enemy units pilled up along the edge.Anyone had this problem?

Not sure if this is the same problem, but also as the Germans, in the desert in 42, I had at least a similar one.

The scenario was delay (British advance). Map was small, I think about 50-60 hexes high. Anyway, there were no flags, and I could deploy my forces almost (but not quite) all the way to the east edge. The AI could only deploy in the first couple of hexes on the east edge itself.

Maybe this is what happened to you, except in reverse (AI being the victim of inabilitiy to deploy).

The scenario was a riot - I just put my 88s and SiGs on the hills about 6 hexes back and a bunch of PzIIIs a couple of hexes in front. a couple of artillery barrages and a bunch of SiG rounds caused havoc among the brit infantry (who were piled up on top of each other since there was nowhere to deploy). British tanks moved one hex into the sight range (since for some reason they were not sighted to begin with) of my panzers and 88s and got nailed with 4-5 hex distabce shots. Smoke from the wreckage (not from infantry) slowly blocked my view.

I think Force Morale was broken on turn 3.

Weird, but fun (though I wouldn't want every map that way)

I don't think visibility was 255, though. No idea about that.

Had either of you modified the campaign? Gyblin ,since you said a saved game restart, were you editing a save, if so you have to do it in the deploy phase!! You will corrupt a save if you edit it at all during the scenario play!!

Vanilla long WW2 campaign, no editing. I don't think I even loaded a save that could have become corrupted - I was playing straight through.

MIght sound obvious - and please excuse if it has been done - but when was the last time you deleted and rebuilt the steel.prf file??

Roger on corrupting the file if messed with during play of the individual scenario: Do your editing right before deployment if you can, otherwise during deployment but never during play of the battle.

Never had such problems before sorry..but I found other strange things in campaigns...
for instance when some infantry units get damage in the repair screen damage 0 is showed for them...but when I start the next battle I can find they start with the same damage they had in the previous one...

The only way to get rid of this is fixing all the units even if 0 damage is shown....

Also I found that if you got some vehicles destroyed but crews survive if fixing their vehicle they will fight as new core units further...
say b0) is destroyed....
but b50) survives...
if I fix bo) in repair menu next battle I will have one core unit more :

b0)
b50) crewman

this way I could decide to double my core forces in a campaign simply making all be crew and change crewman with everything
I want next battle...

please tell me if you think this needs a new topic..

Bye
