Sure, you can blow up, say, a half mile of track, but a rail repair crew can lay that much track again in a few hours if its on the ball.

Not while the para unit is still owns that ground. After the para unit is destroyed (they can't retreat unless another unit has established control of a hex side) - yes, of course.

And exactly how many tools and rolling stock do you think a Japanese invasion of Australia would have captured.

Strategic movement of 50,000 men in one day piffle no way !!!

(p.s. yes I am aware I am changing my ground mid argument !!!)

How does the Beta change things for naval bombardments? What would you expect to be different?

Thanks -

You now know what to do with your 4Es...

BTW - were you surprised by the naval bombardment of Chittagong? I would think that as long as the Japanese have any BBs and CAs you wouldn't leave any planes at any coastal base at any Front.

less "nuke" like... at least I haven´t seen such a result in the beta patch games, either due to not possible to happen or players haven´t figured out how to do it yet

We shall see how it goes

Anyway my tanks keep on rolling forward...

PZB is steadily retreating Rockhampton is now mine and my tanks are afvancing at pace inland

My air has been stood down for a few days to allow his troops to bug out un molested.

I have most of my AF on Naval Attack at present waiting for the (inevitable) attempt to bombard my coastal bases....

In China a Hurricane Sqn supporting the Chinese shot down 17 japanese aircraft so a good day all round

Andy,

Any mines at Chittagong? A few mines, a few mtbs, and a sub or two in his path. I find this discourages harrassing bombardments as it is not worth the risk to a captial ships just to kill some airplanes.

My heavies came out to play today not enough to save my armour from having to perform a fighting retreat against a SMALL Japanese force - I bet he is bugging out

KB is there he must be using them to cover a retreat.

Despite getting kicked out of Charter Towers today I am pretty happy.

Thats pretty much every heavy on the map and the results whilwe not spectaculer were pretty good...

KB would only be in theatre for one reason to cover an evacc out of Australia.

Very little I can do about it my redeployment to CENTPAC has just completed and I am loading up for the Line Islands.

I could be wrong but I doubt it

58 to 41 today not great but most of my losses were P400's and Canadian Hurricanes so not to worried both are obsolete and will soon be replaced.

I will need to drive forward fast if my Naval Strike aircraft are to be in range

With KB present in Australian waters any plans I had for hitting the Solomons or New Britain is gone.

I Hvae 6 NZ Bdes and about a Div of US Infantry in NZ prepping but I suspect I am to late.

Not sure where to go now.

Supply constraints will stop me getting overwhelming force in Burma and CENTPAC after the line islands will be risky.

The reality is I can probably take the Gilberts but I doubt I can  hold them

I need to think about next steps carefullyl

Andy Mac,

I see from the last screenshot that a couple of Queensland inland dot hexes have been built into bases. Did you or your opponent engage in construction and approximately how long did the construction to level 1 take?

PZB lost another 6 bombers today attacking a full Light and heavy AA Regt

Thats about 40 in three days - 6,000 feet = bad idea...

yeah, someone should tell him to revert to 10000 ft as this would make him avoid everything smaller than 75mm and it works just as well attacking from 10k.

Alfred it would have been quick they are all high SPS AF's

My real target was always Charter Towers and my Armoured Spearhead has arrived and is fully prepped for that base so lets see how they do tomorrow when ordered to shock attack.

3rd Aus Div is also en route as Garrison.

I want to take the base quickly to release my Armour for future ops.

In about two days I will start to redeploy heavy bombers to other theatres.

Andy
