Heh, I don't think any of these things are drawn to scale. Well, for a start the sun is about 1 400 000 km diameter when the size of the earth, is about 12 000 km, 100 times less... The earth orbit diameter is about 150 000 000 km (1 au, stands for astronomical unit), yet 100 times the sun's diameter, 10 thousand times earth diameter. Even jupiter, the biggest solar system planet that is "only" 10 times the size of the earth would be annoying to display instead of the sun. And don't forget I speak about 1 dimension measures ; If I was speaking about volume, it would be this power 3. If the scales were right, seeing the edge of the sun on the screen, even if the earth were at the other edge of the display area, it would be a fifth of a pixel large on a 1920 wide screen... And the sun 20 pixels wide ! Not very fun to play. And this is yet only the earth, or also named Sol 3. You could call it very near from the sun... Look at these orbits: And when you quit the solar system, it's yet another scale... Alpha Centauri the nearest star from the sun is at about 270 000 au, or 270 000 times the sun to earth distance... My thanks to Wikipedia !
